... with the Porsche M96 engine you're always left with the "it's not if, but when it's going to let go" feeling. Mine was new enough not to have the cylinder liners that slipped down the bores; but it has the intermediate shaft bearing that they're all talking about at the minute.

Fortunately our Boxster already had an IMS Guardian installed. You just know that damn 'Game Over' light is going to come on eventually though...
Wow. I just looked up the IMS Guardian... never heard of it before today. When there's a substantial market for an add-on gadget that tells you when your engine is spitting metal shavings, that's when you know that engine has design problems. There's a Jeff Foxworthy joke in here somewhere but I can't quite find it.

The bottom covers came in today..........

Dam those covers on that other motor look smoked.

Have to grind these to get the mount some clearance and harmonic area has to be shaved
