Yesterday I noticed my cruise control stopped working. I ran the diagnostic tool for errors and here is what I received. I am not very familiar with deciphering but, my guess would be that the CCS module is bad. Any assistance would be great before I decide - Thx.

Thanks for the welcome.
I have read that the brake light switch can be an issue. My car is an automatic trans - BTW. I was think more like a control module because the Cruise contril light does not come on when the turn the lever on from controlling the cruise. What do you think?

Does the 2009 Jetta have 2 brake light switches? I am thinking one on the master cylinder and one on the brake pedal. Not sure.... any help would be great.

I would have thought just the one on the brake pedal, you need a wring diagram.

When the ingnition switch isn't working correct, you can get all kinds of faults.

I had faults in HVAC and a few other modules, replaced the ignition switch and 99% of the faults I had were gone. If this solves your problem with CC I really don't know, but the faults of the ignition switch are serious enough to get it fixed!

I had a friend say his cruise control wasn't working (2008 Golf GTI Edition 30) and the speedo symbol doesn't show on the dash. so he brought it over for a AutoScan.

In Engine Long Coding cruise control was ticked so I unticked it and clicked DoIt then went back and ticked it then DoIt.

Nothing showed up only 00888 - Wiper Switch for Intermittent Operation (E22) - Defective - Intermittent

He said the intermittent wiper works which it did.

I tried to check the brake light switch in Advanced Measuring Values and all 3 light showed operation. I tried to check the clutch pedal switch but I couldn't see it listed on Engine. I clicked on Drivetrain 12 - Clutch but it kept on saying No Response from Controller. I disconnected and switched everything off but the same message showed on 12 - Clutch.

I took the pedal cover off to look at the clutch pedal switch and I couldn't see it anywhere and there are no wires anywhere near.. I can't see how the cruise control can work properly without the clutch pedal switch on a 6speed manual. There is CCS position when ticked it only showed something like 001000 all the time where the cruise was switched on or off and the resume was switched on or off what does the 001000 mean?

I looked for the CCS speedo symbol to be tested in Advanced Measuring Values but I couldn't see that listed either.

Oh slightly annoying thing in Advanced Measuring Values the components aren't listed alphabetically it would be nice if they were.

If i remember correctly, some active faults in ECU, disable the CCS function. Your Ignition switch is bad anyways. So why not replace it?

I did disable CCS as I've said then enabled it again, that's what someone did when their CCS wasn't working and there's worked afterwards.

Why do you say the ignition switch needs replacing when there was only one error code for intermittent wiper?

Actually i was replying to "otto".

For your case, was CCS turned on when looking measurements under 16- Steering Wheel?
