Hi Adecood,
As Uwe say's you would only be able to get OBD related data. You will not be able to access ABS, Instruments, CAN etc. I have used VCDS on a Triumph to look at EOBD data and clear DTC's....
Hi David,
As Uwe said, without a DTC it is hard to focus on any area, so you need to log whatever data you can, to diagnose what is happening. In addition you may need to manually check things with...
Yes, a compression test would be my starting point, followed by checking for an induction leak.

Hi AlixKaur,
"when the main beam is on, the dipped beam turns off", that might be sensible to stop the headlamp and bulb holder melting.

Hi nightcasters,
The question I have is, were the previous repairs not replacements? if the servo hose was just repaired at the point of the crack, then the answer is yes the part should be...
Hi Karl,
I would think a vehicle reboot is worth a try, disconnect the battery for 30 mins and then do an autoscan and post it here, then clear all the codes and see what happens.

HI Ossy,
The car is not legal for road use in the UK and will fail an MOT. I hope you got it cheap.

" so expecting a package delivered today from ilexa here in the UK." Good choice, I am sure Derek would always give advice if you are in trouble. The first thing to do is a full autoscan and save it...
If you do change the brake pads, make sure they have anti squeal shims and possibly put some anti seize compound on the back of the pads to act as a damper.

Hi Volksrabbit,
This is not uncommon, it is caused by high frequency vibration of the pad, usually because of lip on the brake disk, sometimes it is agravated by cheap replacement brake pads....
Yes, it was under the drivers seat (RHD) hidden under foam, I had to take the seat out to be able to find it. It was water damaged.

"I never fitted the egr but I suspect its aftermarket,"
In my experience aftermarket has a high failure rate. Who fitted it and why are they not fixing it?

Hi judge_360,

Hi Proffa,

"I haven’t checked the wiring, I see cable from the rear goes into the body, am I right to think that only the exposed parts of the cable need to be checked?"
NO!
As Jack say's, fit genuine parts...
Hi Simon,
You should follow Jack's advice but if your main issue is the ABS, the first thing to do is double check the live data from N/S/F wheel speed sensor (G47) and load test the wiring to the...
Hi John,
This is really a job for an oscilloscope, do you have one? If you have, scoping the powers and signals on the injector and HT coil will give you an idea where the problem lies. As Jack...
Hi tultalk,

Hi Matttcattt,
A simple guage like https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/291752782237 would do for a quick manual check. 2mb at idle doesn't sound plausible, what do you get when revving? I presume you have the...
