45g is the limit for soot, and I am pretty sure the computer treats the problem as greater of [calculated, measured]
so the computer will not let you start a regeneration cycle, nor will it start one.
your choices are to remove the , and have it cleaned, (
http://www.dpfregeneration.com/ for example), or replace with new.
You also could lie to the computer so it thinks you have replaced the , and are starting over.
this would reset the calculated soot, and the measured soot would call for a regen (or you could initiate one if you don't want to wait)
the danger, of course, with this, is you would be second guessing the VW engineers who think the risk of fire or of destroying the is too great to run a regeneration on the car with over 45g f soot in the .
you can google up "vw tdi regeneration with too much soot" or such to gather a few hints.
If it was me, I would replace or have it cleaned.
how did it get so much soot in the first place? what was the problem?
