Hi I am planning a retrofit of the Direct measurement TPMS system onto my audi a7 / other mini project cars in the near future. i have purchased a new controller 5q0907273b. and yes i know it is the wrong module for the car.

what i have noticed on my setup is. can high / can low seemed to be swapped around compared to what other fourms have stated.
pin1, can low
pin2, 12v
pin3, can high
pin4, gnd

but have managed communication with VCDS on my bench setup.

i am expecting the missing message error codes as i am running this on the bench and not the car and emulating terminal 15 signal but its the invalid data recorded i believe i need sorting.

in adaptation i have found the following options. can someone post there adaption valves im hoping if i set them in the module will stop complaining.

Needs parameterisation. Vcds can’t help you with this

Thanks i will give them a try although i can already know what they will say. i really miss the days when almost everything was plug and play upgrades. Think VAG has taken this too far which is a shame for the people who would like to retrofit and upgrade there vehicles.

Also on a side note in the adaptions i was trying to manually enter in the tpms wheel sensors and i couldn't change the channel number without it over righting the serial with the last stored number. is there a way to adapt both channel number/ position and serial at the same time?

Lastly i'm disappointing with the 19.6 update. when i was on 18.9 i could read the advanced measurement ect thru my hex-can-usb but after it just showed a message saying you need to upgrade your interface. luckily i recently brought a hex-net. considering it did work on 18.9 think this unfair.

Re: adaptations, can you share the exact channel names and values you were working with? If I understand you correctly, there's a fix for UDS string adaptations in 19.6 (that was broken in 18.9) that might help you, but we'd have to know more to be certain.

Re: legacy interfaces with 19.6, the issue you're seeing is unintentional and only affecting (to my knowledge) people with retrofitted modules, and only on those modules. For now you should be able to work around it by Auto Scanning your car first so VCDS sees your VIN and confirms it's a supported vehicle. I'm not clear on Ross Tech's long term plan for this one.

Thanks i will do my best to explain the programming issue.

In adaptions there is two seprate channels that want to be joined together is possible.
UDS Adaptation Channel (5B): IDE03513-IDE03525-Write sensor identification number-Sensor identification number (sensor ID)
UDS Adaptation Channel (5B): IDE03513-IDE06104-Write sensor identification number-Wheel position

If i programming a serial number it will program that to wheel position (set separate channel (positions 1 to 4)). but when i try to set wheel position to another to program the next serial it programs in the last serial number to the new position set and erases the last one.

eg.
original
position 1 serial 1
position 2 serial 2
position 3 serial 3
position 4 serial 4

program new serial to position 1
position 1 serial (12345)
position 2 serial 2
position 3 serial 3
position 4 serial 4

setting position 2
position 1 serial 0
position 2 serial (12345)
position 3 serial 3
position 4 serial 4

i fell like you need to set the serial and position together. Im hoping that makes sense.

Okay, there's a possibility this will work better in VCDS 19.6. Make sure you're using that, and give it another try. There was an issue with Release 18.9 and Beta 19.4 wherein multipart UDS channels (in your case, IDE03513 and its subchannels) with string-type contents were sometimes not handled properly, and touching one subchannel could break others. I ran into this myself with a battery upgrade, when adapting the new brand and serial number.

Let us know how that goes. If it doesn't work, you may need more assistance from RT support. RT support: refer to Misc Testing thread 18686, particularly post #4 which unfortunately might be relevant to his workflow, if the module is moving that TPMS sensor ID to the next wheel when he changes the wheel position subchannel and VCDS writes out IDE03515.

See post #2, you need to paramertise the module for it to work correctly. You dont need to program serial numbers etc, just fit the sensors and module once the programming is correct, and drive the car. It will work out the rest itself
