Hello,

good morning guys. I have a mk6 golf 1.6 tdi. it uses the uds protocol. im trying too check the torsion value on this but I cant seem too find out how ! any ideas please and thanks in advance for looking.

I had a look at the Advanced Measuring Values for this vehicle's engine controller and there does not appear to be any [torsion value] data. It is possible that the manufacture's engineers/programmers have decided not to calculate and display this information, maybe?

Note: I do see a lot of unknown abbreviations in the Advanced Measuring Values, it is possible the information you seek is hidden in these values.

So just curious, what exactly did you want to verify with the 'torsion value'? There are no fault codes in the engine controller? Does the vehicle have any performance concerns? Just wondering, maybe we can find/look at something else? :)

.Dr Peter, thank you for your reply. the reason for wanting too check this is I had the cambelt changed a few weeks ago, I couldnt do it myself as ive had surgery on my hand and cant use it for 6 weeks or so. the local independent garage did it for me . everything seems ok, but it seems to have lost some of its power which may suggest its timing is retarded ?.this model never was the best with power and you have too keep the revs up too get it too pull well. when its running its fine no issues .I know if they had used the proper locking tools then it should be right.i just thought I could check it this way without upsetting the guys at the garage. they have always don't things right in the past and have a good reputation.

It is.........

Just look for it additionally or calculate G28 and G40 in a log to verify angle at fixed RPM to establish and than watch for deviations but I would cross ref to external measurements with a tool such as VAG 1767.

OP: Ideal is ZERO.

Just being slightly out could allow the engine to operate without a DTC reported and still reflect a seat of your pants loss or until a very cold day and is worst to find out if wrong then, when finally the DTC posts.
