Mr. Uwe,

I acquired my second-hand "Hex + Can" cable in USA. To register cable now, I need its serial number ... but I can not because I reinstalled Windows and VCDS. Now it does NOT recognize cable and does not show serial number in About section...
Cable do not have stickers, no more...

I've used cable for about 2 years with VCDS 11.11.3 - no problem.
Last week I formated my computer, reinstalled Windows 7 and I upgraded VCDS to 17.1.3. First, it only recognized cable with VCP Drivers and asked for Firmware upgrade (from 1.91 to 1.93). I did it successfully.
Now, VCDS do not recognize cable anymore ... Neither version 11.11.3, nor version 17.1.3. Neither with "Ross-Tech Direct USB Interface" driver, nor VCP driver.
Message is "Port Status: OK, USB Library Version: 03.02.07, USB Driver Version: 02.10.00, Interface: Not Found [/ B]"

Please, could you say me how can I see cable's serial number if VCDS do not recognize cable?

PS: With "Ross-Tech Direst USB Interface" driver I can see Hardware ID: "USB\VID_0403&PID_FA24&REV_0600"

So you have a second-hand, broken cable with no means to identify the serial number. How do you expect us to be able to help you with this?

Maybe you should have registered it while it was still working?

Just now I realized that I could subscribe for support, as second-hand user... And only now I wish to use additional functions that are not available in 11.11.3 version... :-(

Any solution, even it was broken (Maybe an exchange-based sale)?

(*Furthermore, a guy said me this cable could not be genuine... Could you please certify?*)
