Previously undocumented conversions are always a bit hit and miss.
The only person who can gaurantee it will work, is someone who has done it.
Best case scenario, is that everything can be coded to suit - Worst case, is that you need to buy new/used , , Looms (or do a lot of wiring) etc. You have to be at least partially prepared to go that far.
I've installed a 3.2 R32 engine into a Touran (non-US model, Golf 5 based 7 seater), and while it's not finished yet (though I've had it drivable), I have already purchased a brand new engine ( and then found a used one also!) got the from an R32 golf, and a number of ancilliary parts.
It's one of those things that once started, you pretty much have to pony up with the $ to keep going, convert back to standard, or sell the whole lot at a massive loss.
There are quite possibly some challenges you'll have to overcome, but if the modules were all available , then you can theoretically do it. It just may not be US compliant???
The actual manual conversion is likely to be simple, install the bits, minor coding and wiring to allow starting of the engine... then what ever is required for /ESP etc and the engine to be happy.
probably won't be able to do everything, but it goes a long way to finding problems, identifying modules and fiddling with things :-) I brought it purely for my conversion, and it's been invaluable so far, even though there have been other things I've required (although my conversion is more complicated - engine, transmission swap, and AWD install).
