This one Polo, I'm working with tonight, along with other problems is displaying warning for missing signal from oil level/temperature sensor. But sensor is not present at all :D So I would like to disable it. Unfortunately IPC does not allow me to change ADP CH 39 from 1 to 0 and login 13861 offered by pop-up window results with dropped comms to IPC and FAIL displayed in right side LCD of IPC below odometer reading.
Any suggestions, colleagues?

I believe the Login of 13861 only applies to entering the odometer reading in Adaptation channel 09 on a brand new cluster. Other changes shouldn't require a Login. Try Adp 04 to change the language for example. I'm not familiar with Adp 39 ... it's possible that could require a different Login?

Ch 04 is not available
I can change Ch 45 (regular or longlife service) from 1 to 2 and back, without any login.

I guess this IPC is not original for this car. Or some other components/modules are changed. IPC has ABS and ESP warning lights on, but brake electronics module installed is classic ABS 8.0, without ESP. I'm working on repairing damaged wiring to front wheel sensors right now.
Will have to check with PL24 tomorrow (I haven't PL available from place I'm working right now). Or someone could check it tonight for me, please?
P.S. VIN in autoscan is correct for this car, the same VIN on car's body.

I think the cluster is correct. I don't want to post a massive pic so the link is:

Edit:
ECM # 045 906 019 CA is correct per PL24
ABS shows 6Q0 614 117 T to be used for 6Q0 614 117 S. 6Q0 614 117 T supers to 6Q0 614 117 AK (not AF) so something might be wrong in that area.

I could be all off here but this page has some dated info:

http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/cars/vw_sri.html

This is all SRI information.
I'm searching for the way how to disable oil level/temperature sensor as it does not exist on this car. Probably it is Adp Ch 39, but this IPC does not allow to change value 1 to 0. If typing 0 into New Value field, it jumps back to 1 in Test field.

Right, but the the service scheme and reset info usually overlaps.

Ok, cluster is correct, ABS isn't. But then there should be some way how to disable oil level/temperature sensor in cluster.
This engine even don't have opening for sensor in oil sump. 045103601D

How I understand, longlife service scheme may require oil level/temperature sensor in some cases, but fixed intervals can live without it. In my case Ch 45 is set to 1 (Fixed Intervals), but I can't set Ch 39 to 0 (no oil level/temperature sensor)...

Can You look at 927-000 (ABS control module) for me, please? Numbers above are from 614-012 (ABS unit)

One mystery solved - this engine should have different oil level/temperature sensor, mounted in front end flange, not in oil sump like classic ones. 045907660D
x045907660D.jpg.pagespeed.ic.nz1tnxM6TC.jpg

In my case connector is broken and wires are just hanging in air ... And sensor can't be located on engine. Two different types of front end flanges exists - with opening for sensor and without. 045103153 and 045103153A
Probably presence of this sensor is hardcoded in cluster - e.g. I can see value 1 in Adp Ch 39, but I can't change it, at lest by regular way of changing adaption parameters.

You found the G266 problem, but I am also puzzled about Adp channel 39.
The Instrument is configured for "fixed service" (Sorry about the question, forgot to look at you posted channel map #8), channel 42, 43, 44, 45.
But the Engine is still Coded for Variable Service (WIV), 00005
If you want, try: 00102

Probably I'll not have possibility to test it anymore. As main problem was ABS and I found out last night that incorrect module is fitted, wiring and brake pipes are rebuild and warning lamps in IPC covered with black tape etc. G85 removed from car and so on... :D In short words car was prepared for sale using worst practice ever seen... Customer is not ready right now to invest in parts and labour to revert things in order they should be with all correct parts installed and so on. So thank You everyone for Your help! Special thanks to Dana! :)

I realize this car is fixed well enough for now but I like NEtech's suggestion if it returns.
