Jack , interested as I know you code modules and the like. If I take a J248 DIC module, power up all power that are on the specific lines via wire diags, will it create CAn low and Can hi from the 248 even though nobody is down stream.?, or am I as Jack might state pissing up a rope?

ECMs will generally "talk" stand-alone with nothing more than switched & unswitched power plus ground.

It will but what J248 are we speaking of K line with CAN or with W line for High/Low like in your ALH's you play with?

Not pissing up a rope ......get out WD and find Terminals 30 ...15 and 31 in addition to K and CAN>High/Low ......may the bench harness commence!

Jack, still helping Aaron here on the 04 Jetta, trying to validate if the ECM is playing fair as the resistance from the Gateway is in speck, thank you so much.

ECU termination resistor, can be measured directly at the controller & as defined under testing in the RTFB!
