Is there a way to know when any Dtc were cleared recently or in the past before a car was put up for sale? Looking at scanning a car this weekend with vcds.

Thanks

Clearing DTCs in engine/trans also clears the readiness monitors (if some chiptuner didn't change that behavior). In more recent cars, OBD2 mode also has a PID "Distance since DTCs cleared".

Just check monitors , if all ready then car do not have any problems. If some of them not ready then CEL was cleared less then 100 miles ago.
If you have CAT or O2 sensor not ready , then it could be TUNE car and some tuners will delete it and monitors will be always N/A.
