Today I got a really rare car for our region - Audi A4 B5 2,8l MY2001, the NAR version. Problem is with combined oil level/temperature sensor. Sensor fault is displayed and VCDS confirms it. There was some probably cheap noname sensor fitted by another workshop. I have checked wiring to sensor, repaired some suspicious connections but without any results. I tried one new Hella made sensor and two used original ones - all the same. Unfortunately new OEM sensor is not in stock at local dealer.
But I can't believe that all 4 sensors are bad. Wiring is re-checked several times, I have even disconnected original signal wire from IPC T32a, pin 15 and fitted another connector for sensor, in short wires directly to input of IPC. All the same. I have seen in some VW models, that sensor fault for low oil level could not be reset, before IPC "see" than bonnet was opened and closed. At this car switch for opened bonnet was damaged by corrosion, but I fitted another wire directly to IPC input for bonnet switch (T32a, pin 25) to imitate bonnet opening/closing. But LCD in IPC did not show warning for opened bonnet.
We do not have NAR version cars in junkyards here, no way to get another used IPC for testing/replacement.
Do anyone here has similar experience with not working signal inputs for NAR Audi A4 IPC 8D0920980Q? Is it some common know fault four those clusters?
