Just picked up my 2017 GTI a couple of weeks ago and am loving it. I invested in a Ross-Tech HEX-NET to tweak ALL THE THINGS. One tweak I have been unable to do is increase the number of turn signal "comfort blinks" from the default 3 to either 4 or 5 blinks. I think I figured out where to set this within VCDS (09-Cent. Elect./Adjustment/Turn signal control-Komfortblinken Blinkzyklen), but when I set the new value to a higher number and click "Do It!", VCDS stores the higher value (5) but the car still only blinks the turn signal 3 times.
Anyone else had luck with a 2017 GTI? Perhaps this is set in another adaptation channel?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

And thank you for the heads up on the extra in-car procedure that is required. It is also required for the 2017 model as well. Thanks to your instructions I was able to finally get it to work! I even experimented and reset only the factory settings for lights vs. the whole vehicle and that worked a charm.
