Hey guys,
Proud VCDS owner here trying to diagnose an issue on my own car for once (instead of helping out others),
Its a top of the line 6 Speed DSG 4Motion 3.6 BWS Passat CC, with all the addons possible.
When driving up slight inclines, the gearbox doesnt seem to notice this and changes into 5th quckly rather than staying in 4th like it does on a flat. As soon as it changes into 5th, it flips back to 4th a second later and causes a bit of a surge making it feel like an old auto box and makes it hard to drive smoothly.
When i'm towing, i,e extra weight at the rear, it drives like a dream, holds 3rd uphills for longer than without the towing weight, and no sign of it trying to change up early.
This only happens of course in D (Drive mode)
I have seen faults previously for the Vehicle inclination sensor, are these the things that are bolted to the chassis arms underneath? but those faults seem to come and go away after clearing.
Is there anything i can check to see if things are aligned properly with any DSG sensors or DCC suspension settings?. I have considered adding ballast to the rear to prove my above theory but havent got around to it yet. ACC Headlights seem OK, but there is evidence of these being manually adjusted before with a screwdriver.
Thanks
