Hello,
Trying to adapt steering end stops in 44 module, but security access balloon doesn't give the code... so need help with this code. 40168 doesn't match. Thanks.

If the electrical paths for the powers/grounds on the steering rack are good (no voltage drop issues), then it would appear you are going to be in the market for a new steering rack.

- There is no login or security access code that is needed to perform the Steering End Stop re-learn, just the procedure listed below.
The [44-Steering Assist] controller does NEED to be fault free, except for the 'End Stop' fault code.

We have a Ross-Tech wiki page about the procedure I quoted below, Audi A6 (4G) Steering Wheel Electronics



After the Steering Angle Sensor (G85) Calibration is completed, the 44-Steering Assist (J500) module may have DTC C10AC - Steering End Stops Not Learned stored.
The steering limit end stops need to be adapted as follows:

- Start the engine and turn the steering to full right lock and hold it for 5 to 10 seconds. The vehicle should produce an audible beep
- Turn the steering to the complete left lock and the same audible beep should sound.
- Straighten the wheels and wait 5 to 10 seconds while observing the steering and traction control warnings. They should extinguish although it is advised to scan the vehicle again for DTCs prior to the test drive.

Try recoding and defaulting adaptions in this module with an alternate WSC in VCDS; to see if the module will realign the x-sum.

Sometimes you get lucky after several attempts of doing this.
In addition maybe including a cold reboot with terminal 15 and 30 crossed to ground to deplete the caps when battery disconnected.

Additionally this part # and firmware versions were updated many times for issues documented in SVM.
