Hi Jack@European_Parts

Many Thanks for the info, unfortunately I can not gain access to Mesa Blocks - 08 as it is greyed out. the only way I can log is though ADV Meas Blocks which I am having trouble finding the relevant information you have shown as the sensors are not shown by the numbers of G28 etc. and when using the search and typing in the relevant names yields no results.

the only thing I have logged is this which is probably totally wrong.

IDE00021 Engine speed 836 /min
IDE00405 Crankshaft speed (RPM) 839.5 /min
IDE00406 Camshaft speed (RPM) 418.3 /min
ENG106252 Synchronous angle 0.00 °

So sorry for being such a pain but as you can see all I have to go by is ADV Meas Blocks which shows IDE numbers.

Many Thanks again for your patience and understanding.

Well ENG106252 Synchronous angle 0.00 °is good.

Thanks for getting back to me so quick, this is great news, I do find that this does fluctuate a little with the speed of the engine idle. You can see an advance of 4°
IDE00021 Engine speed 823 /min
IDE00405 Crankshaft speed (RPM) 828.0 /min
IDE00406 Camshaft speed (RPM) 414.0 /min
ENG106252 Synchronous angle 0.04 °

Is this ok?

Well same issue here only adv id list. I would love to see a function for measuring and, adjusting timing of high pressure diesel pump, and cam timing(Torsion).
king of like Mesa - block 08 group 4 with torsion, and TDI start of injection timing.

I use locking pin when changing timing belt, but cam and diesel pump are still adjustable. It will be nice with a function in vcds for measuring these values in newer models with adv. id list. I know this may not be possible, but i would love to see it if possible, and i think i am not the only one poking in this area.

I know we vent from mechanical injectors to electrical, but is the timing of the pump not important? And if it is how to measure it with vcds, if it is off value in new engines?

It may be that things just changed and locking pins is the only option for measuring timing, but why did vag go back to stone age in this area, and then waisted time on developing new advanced ecu?
