I was able to do the test drive the car for the lateral sensors and the ABS and the ABS flashing lights disappeared, that was 2 months ago,
now I am getting the following code and lights are on blinking, I am familiar with the Wiki in regards to code 01130 - ABS Operation.
checked fuses, connectors etc.
Sorry for not having the full scan, but there is no other code present,
Any help would be appreciated.

Chris

Thank you for posting the auto-scan.........don't forget to check all relays and consumers via wire diagrams.

Don't discount if possible bad module internally, for poor solder joint.......... causing sporadic condition.

I agree, and that 01130 - ABS Operation - Implausible Signal fault can be a nasty one to diagnose if the problem is intermittent.

Is anything on this vehicle aftermarket, including any OE system retrofits? Do you have any repair history on this vehicle? Does that fault reoccur with any regularity or does it take 2 months to return?

Dana,

that is the vehicle which I posted previously, with the transmission dual clutch error, remember I found out in Germany that
these transmissions had a recall (corrosive and wrong oil filled), so I advised my customer to return the car to Audi, and after trying to charge for certain things they finally did it under goodwill, so the transmission is now OK, nice shifting etc.
That was about 2 moths ago, when i was able to do the lateral test drive and the ABS /ESP warning disappeared.
The ABS ESP flashing has returned now.
This is a problem which is just like playing the lottery, I checked fuses, grounds, relay, everything looks fine.
That car had this problem only one time and that was 2 months ago and no after market accessories
etc can be found.
Of course Audi has no answer for that problem except saying you need to buy a new module.

This will be my last attempt, getting a new module, replace all 4 ABS sensors and try again, but what if it is the stop light switch, the lateral sensor or the ABS pump itself????
I need as much help i can get.
Thank you all for your kind assistance,
Chris

I like where Jack is going with that. Even though WSS issues should set fault codes .. something could be going on in that area so I wouldn't deter you from replacing them before that ABS module itself.

I would also ask where this customer was driving or where they work/vacation when the light came on. Static electricity, Electric railways .. something like that you can't duplicate where you are test driving it.

Edit. One more comment.. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert in the Electromagnetic interference department ('cus I'm not) but what about the Alternator?

If you where concerned for a field from the alternator, or even any pulley/object which could be in rotation causing a field disruption/created.

Build a farad cage out of tin foil around the control unit....... easy enough right?

Anyone who thinks I am crazy...........take your cell phone and wrap it in tin foil.......... then see if it rings........it shouldn't.

A beautiful vehicle which would create a secondary high tension ignition ARC........... was the belt cover over a cam gear and T-Belt on the 92-95 five zyl. GAS Eurovan.

One day I was like hmmmm........... I hear a spark plug wire leaking............ we better get a set of plugs/wires cap and rotor.
When I was done.......the spark noise was still there. After further review.......... it was the above.

Magnetic coils and forces are my favorite for experiments.

Chris.......
Another check.
Please raise the car in air and inspect all the tires for cupping or being out of round causing a vibration disruption.
Seconded, and look for any reason why all four wheels might not spin at the same speed. Check to make sure all four wheels and tires are the same make and model, have the same amount of wear and are inflated properly.

Do you have any false ABS/ESP engagements in addition to this code? Under what driving conditions did this DTC/alarm go off? Were you braking at the time?

As a reference, I tripped this same code while diagnosing an unrelated speed-related NVH problem. I had the car raised up with all four wheels off the ground and running in-gear to experiment and try to isolate the noise. So, I can tell you potential causes are "insane" feedback from wheel speed sensors that are moving at all different speeds, or possibly failure to correlate its idea of vehicle acceleration, braking and turning with the ESP accelerometers.

You mentioned work on a lateral sensor. If I recall correctly, the repair guide instructions contain dire warnings about sensor handling, installation position and fastener torque. Are you 110% confident your ESP accelerometers are intact, placed correctly and torqued correctly?

there is no ABS engagement at all, the lights came on as soon as the car starts rolling, that's how it started.
( I had at the same time an ignition coil badly misfiring and changed the coil, after coil change, I did the driving test and was able to get rid of the ABS/Esp flashing lights-2 months ago.)

I didn't do work on the lateral sensors, I only did the driving test which supposed to test these lateral sensors, I activated the test with VCDS and completed the test, but this time
the lights came right back on.

NOW the latest news:
When I switch the ignition on and start the engine, after 2-3 seconds the ABC/ESP flashing starts.
Same happens when I reset the codes with VCDS, after rolling 1 yard it comes back on.
Yesterday I played and pumped the brake pedal and kept the pressure on, and switched on ignition, started the engine and the lights do not come on flashing as long as i like, but when I release the brake pedal, its all back flashing???

Today I will check the switch, which is located in the engine room parallel to the brake cylinder.

I agree these interferences may be able to trigger the lights, but shouldnt we be able to reset
when they are not present anymore? There are no after market gadgets in that car.

Hrm... if your internally-redundant brake pedal switch had partly failed, you should have a very specific DTC for that. And if it completely mechanically came apart and it's stuck open/closed, your brake lights would be stuck or inoperative, and your brake-shift interlock would be stuck or inoperative.

I wonder if it's reconciliation problem between the brake pedal switch and the brake pressure sensor G201? You might verify its pressure readings in MVB 005 for sanity, and perhaps run the calibration procedure in Ross-Tech's wiki.

Sure each time the key is cycled........... the brake light and even clutch switches are checked in a diagnostic routine.
On early cars you would get a DTC in the 0x02 until you stepped on it to check it...........than performing a self clear

Do we have any codes when accessing the module's directly......... during or before light is flashing?
What is the log for wheel speeds in 0x03-08-001 during this condition?

I toke the module out yesterday to get the parts number, now after reading Your and Jason's post, I will put it back in, bleed the system and do the whole calibration procedure. Unfortunately there are no other codes, except the one above in my initial scan. The brake switch looks like an electronic switch, there are no mechanical parts on that switch.

You should also look for contaminated or damaged reluctors on each wheel for the sensor and air gap............

I realize this thread is pretty old ... but I was about to link it to another customer with the dreaded 01130 - ABS Operation - Implausible Signal - Intermittent DTC when I realized this one didn't include updated information.

Chris worked with us directly for assistance coding the new ABS module but the master cylinder blew brake fluid into the brake booster along the way. In the end, the components tested and/or replaced in this thread in addition to a brand new ABS controller and a master cylinder corrected the vehicle. I'm pretty sure the brake booster was cleaned and reused but it is entirely possible that they may have replaced it as well.

It seems to be a more common policy from 2000> cars........ that VW-AUDI is moving to require replacement of booster and master as a complete set do to mismatched vendors on the two parts they ran into a while back.

At least that was what was stated to me through depot.

Regardless of TDI or GAS:

Vehicles which use a mechanical vacuum pump......... I am finding that cars are self applying the brakes again.
This causes warped rotor issues, premature worn brake pads and poor fuel MPG.

It happens as the spring weakens in the booster or if the ball wasn't installed on center of the brake pedal.
In some cases due to mismatched master to booster offset for piston. ( from buying a wrong used part )
