This only happens after a heat soak, it long cranks and puffs grey smoke, if the evap vapor hose to the purge is clamped off the concern goes away, tried 2 different purge valves both from the dealer but still has hard start concern

Hi Zac,

The formatting in that scan clip is a mess :-) I pasted the VIN data below, so anyone attempting to help can see this is a CAEB 2.0T, but please try Auto-Scanning and pasting that again so we can see the controller information.

Vehicle Identification No. WAUBFAFL3CA116075
Model audi a4 qu. 2,0
A4
Date of production 09.02.2012
Year 2012
Sales type 8K256A
Engine Code CAEB
Transmission Code NXS

In the meanwhile I would make sure liquid gas isn't coming up that N80/vapor line.

At face value, it does sound like a bad N80 purge valve. Remove it, if you can push air through it with "lung power", it is bad.

Please check your High Pressure Pump for leaking into the oil.
Drive the car hot, unmount the High Pressure Pump from the Head,
keep the High Pressure Line and electric connections attached.
Clean the surface of the Pump and cam follower, turn the ignition back to on
and look if Fuel comes seeping out of the Pump.

In addition to N80, aforementioned by prior posts......... always verify the LDP circuit is not flowing raw gas too.

Later cars support an additional controller and diaphragm which likes to POP!
