I have used VCDS on it before and i have saved the VIN/IMMO and Soft Coding numbers , could anyone advise me of how i can reprogramme the ECU to get the VIN and IMMO to show up in the EXTRA window and get the coding proceedure ?..Please note i do not have the cars SKC number....my attempt a retriving this via the eeprom dump did not work...

Any help on this would be much appreciated,

If you need any further info eeprom dumps etc please let me know.

Cheers

Derrick

How do you figure this is a 2004 car? The VIN clearly shows it as a 2003.

Without the PIN code, VCDS cannot match Immo-3 components.

I'm curious: What "tool" buggered up the ECU in this car?

:p

I can help but I don't see a code for the Immobilizer being blocked.

How about just recoding the unit?

IMHO, you need to locate some one who has the proper tools to decrypt the PIN from the instrument cluster... a good locksmith. It has been my experience, based on customer feedback, when issues like this occur, said items to decrypt PINs are... um... 便宜是有原因的。

Hopefully if you can get the PIN, then you can connect to ECM, go into Adaptation channel 50, set the new value to 0+[four digit PIN], then Test and Save, confirm Yes, exit out of the ECM and remove the key from the ignition and wait 60 seconds and hope for the best.

Since the ecu is now in a state of SHOCK from wang chung it seems.......tell me if you can log into the controller in 0x01-11 or 16 security access with PIN # 65535........?

What was the coding of the unit before messing with it?

thank you for your advice it is much appreciated, i'm in a world of self inflicted eeprom interogation pain !

i don't have the PIN, i was attempting to retrive it from the eng eeprom pt no sti 93c76c SOIC 8pin, but the dumps made no sense. i have them but i'm unsure of there is access to the SKC in them

Well, OK, but what I really meant was: What tool(s) did you use?

I was trying out a new USB eeprom programmer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRUE-USB-...ther_Computing_Networking&hash=item1c2c4f7445

and didn't follow the process ...got in mess and ended up loosing vital data, VCDS has enabled me to gather some fault codes and i have just managed to get hold of the 4digit PINCODE

Plan to resolder the SMD eeproms back on the Eng ecu and the instrument cluster (the cluster is where i finally got a complete correct dump, this enable me to get the pincode)

Jeff has suggested i try this experiment

Hopefully if you can get the PIN, then you can connect to ECM, go into Adaptation channel 50, set the new value to 0+[four digit PIN], then Test and Save, confirm Yes, exit out of the ECM and remove the key from the ignition and wait 60 seconds and hope for the best.

Any tips on the exact procedure ?

Hey Derrick....

See if you can log into the cluster with 0x17-11 or 16 with - 02286

The engine dumps are screwed.....

Were you able to login to the engine controller with 65535 ?

ok, i've dropped you an email, but i'll repeat it on here so everyone can take a look .

UPDATE 12:25PM GMT

I sent the same Eng dump to a website that offers a "Dump to PIN" service, got a completely different PIN 1568

here is his reply

Hi,

The stamp you have sent is the garage where the car is serviced.

Importer and dealer codes can be read by VAS-5051/5052 diagnostics scanner.

For info about dealer code (WSC: WorkShop Code) go to http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/tour/option_screen.html

Scroll down until "Workshop Identification".

And http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/faq_2.html :

Scroll down until "2.9 What's the Work Shop Code?"

By the way the 4/5 digit PIN should work in VCDS to login into Immobilizer.

I have followed that request for the Importer code (210 for the UK) and dealer code 13765 and have sent to him, await the correct 7 digit PIN, in the hope that will let me LOGIN to the Engine ECM.

Summary,

Well some progress has been made as i can now can see both the VIN/IMMO numbers in the Extra fields of both Engine ECM and Instrument Cluster, but i feel the PINCODE issue is the the one i have yet to get a steer on !

Any thoughts guys ?

STOP sending and trying to use all pin codes from every person out there on the net.
You are convoluting the process.....
Just because a VIN is present doesn't mean its better.........or any closer.

Put the eeprom with xxxxxxx back on and see if you can login to the controller with 65535 after 10 minutes with key on and communication taking place.

or

Send me the equipment to sort it out or send it to someone that is in your area with a good rep.....
