Audi TT Cluster swap help

Hi, we are looking to replace a faulty cluster in a 2002 Audi TT
Both cars are IMMO3

We have the SKC for both clusters and we are able to log into the cluster using VCDS


I have used the correct procedure for matching IMMO3 cluster and the new clocks keep saying "system not available" when I attempt to carry out the last step of the procedure

I have checked the MVB and there is no cluster lockout on the new clocks

is there something we are doing wrong

I did read somewhere that the status of the cluster should be 04 (service mode) and not 06 in MVB 23

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

- Also what is the exact message you receive from VCDS? Can you get a screen shot? Does the cluster drop off communications at that point?

Check out our FAQ topic - FAQ-2.5 VCDS communicates, but it's "flaky".

I did read somewhere that the status of the cluster should be 04 (service mode) and not 06 in MVB 23

In MVB-[023] field (4) the value of 4 = New, Replacement Instrument Cluster
and...
6 = Immobilizer adapted / Normal Function Condition
7 = Key Adaptation active


Lastly I would recommend to post a complete Vehicle Auto-Scan, so we can see any fault codes, part numbers, coding, etc...

On Audi not possible adopt cluster when is in Mode 06, Need to be chnage to 04 , then you can do it.I have tried this so many times and never was able to do it.
Of Course VCDS can not change adaptation mode form 06 to 04.

VCDS can adapt these clusters in standard diagnostics, if you know what is required for the procedure.
