TDI swap CCM no longer responding

Hello I have a 2002 B5.5 passat v6 4motion with an automatic transmission.
I have swapped the engine and transmission for a AVF 1.9 tdi and a 01E 4motion manual transmission that I bought from Frans at dutch auto parts.

Before I did the swap the CCM worked as normal, after doing the swap the radio is in safe mode which would be expected because there is now a different ECU installed,
but now the CCM does not work or respond to vcds. I have central locking functionality from both the key and the buttons on the doors but the power windows and sunroof do not work, the horn also does not work.

I have inspected the wiring around the CCM, the can bus high splice (orange and purple) appeared slightly discolored so I reconnected those wires with a butt connector.
I also visually inspected the pcb of the CCM and it showed no signs of water damage.

In the auto scan log I got a 01044 - Control Module Incorrectly Coded in the CAN gateway.

From my understanding the can gateway is built into the dash cluster right?

the cluster is a B5 cluster which is now installed in a B5.5 car. Would this cause the CCM to not respond?

First this belongs in retrofits.

I'll byte though........all below information to be requested, and please supply part numbers of units before and after.
I imagine this is for off road use..........because that's the way I will be treating it since monitors are X.

That cluster is for pre 2000 Passat/Santana drive lines in EU.
3B0-920-822A supersedes 3B0-920-822AX

I Imagine a better fit would be 3B0-920-929CX for diesel and a USA cluster.

Security access is in wait time,..... questions verse needed supporting documentation, when specifically requested, will only compound the time period.

I have no idea what you mean by that post, but anyway I put the original cluster back in and everything works including the radio.

I feel pretty dumb for not trying that from the start.

What you should feel dumb about is not matching up parts, observing the different WD between the models/years, to know what is what before....... plugging anything in.
What if something back fed and burned the car up......?

If you are going to do it .........at least do it right and if not at least use some caution.

Like I said........ consider that cluster to get the glow light sorted and proper gage set.

Then wire up the GP relay etc.

Jack is 100% correct, Immo 2 cluster is your problem, Immo 2 cluster can not work with Immo 3 system CCM.
You have to get Cluster form USA model as Jack mention, Program it for ECU and all should be fine.

Yep, or more accurately, the change in immo generation also coincided with a change in comfort system CAN bus generation. Different comfort CAN speeds and more messages being sent on the data bus in the later generation mid 2002 and up. Not that immo has much to do with comfort CAN, but all is integrated into the cluster and the change happened at the same time.

In other words, OP needs a 2002.5 or newer TDI cluster, which Jack gave an excellent suggestion for as far as part number.
