Hello Ross-Tech team,

I have just posted a full scan of my 24h old A4 B9 (USA) at http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?5976-2017-Audi-A4-Prestige-(USA) and was wondering where the right spot is to figure out the following tweaks. I'm using a HEX-NET interface with VCDS 16 beta (downloaded today). HEX-NET was fully updated before running the auto scan.

ACC preset distance: The old method via STG 13, adaptation 10, channel 7 results in an out of range error and the new value is not accepted
Rear Turn Signal: Disable the middle segment and leave only the top section ("winkers") active
MMI SIM card: Enable the SIM card slot to allow use of a data SIM for WiFi hotspot (like Germany/ROW can in their 2016 A4 B9)

Thanks,
Dirk

Maybe the coding from A6 (4G) will work, where it doesn't use Channel numbers, but Channel text/descriptions ??
Code:
[13 - Auto Dist. Reg]
[Adaptation - 10]
Choose "ADP-Distance basic setting option" in dropdown
Change value to ON

>> MMI SIM card: Enable the SIM card slot to allow use of a data SIM for WiFi hotspot (like Germany/ROW can in their 2016 A4 B9)
I don't know this coding.

>> Rear Turn Signal: Disable the middle segment and leave only the top section ("winkers") active
What are the coding of:
Code:
[46 - Comfort System]
[Security Access - 16] -> Enter login-code: 16017
[Adaptation - 10] -> Channel 181 - 212

PS.: Not all coding can be performed with VCDS on the newest models - for this you need another cable (from a competitor to Ross-Tech).

I don't have STG46 in my car
Not yet... but I hope VCDS will be able to access it in the next beta, with your HEX-NET. We're working on getting a B9 A4 here for this reason.

I'm looking forward to the next update. I'm sure you guys will fix these issues sooner or later.

That's the car:

I also got the Hotspot and Client enabled but while Network search found plenty of networks if failed to connect to any of them, so I turned it back off until I know that AudiConnect is working properly without any mods

And I got once the option to enter an APN which I did with my t-mobile SIM in the reader, but there was no option to choose which card to use for WiFi clients. Sorry, no pictures.

Regarding ACC Dist. Reg.: I'm trying to enter a security access code to change some adaptation. When I enter the code 14117 I get an error "Controller refused to send a seed! Error 37: Required time delay not expired". Am I correct sayin that this doesn mean the code is wrong but VCDS does not get the expected response from the controller? If I change channel 7 Distance basic setting option to on/1 I get the Requet out of range error. Could that be because I couldn't enter the security access code?

Thanks for any help,
Dirk

That means you've tried too many wrong keys and the controller locked itself. You need to wait a certain amount of time (10 minutes?) with the ignition on for the lock to clear itself. At that point you'll either get an error 35 if you have the wrong key, or the key will be accepted if it's correct. Battery charger is kinda mandatory :)

Ok, thanks. I'm doing a HEX-NET update anyway right now and it's connected to the car's WiFi network, eta 10 minutes for it to complete. Any idea if the access code for the 4G/8V (14117) should work on the 8W also? Or how else I can get the ACC distance into the MMI?

Now I get an error 35, invalid key, which confirms that 14117 is not correct. I guess I could go to the dealer and have them change it (manual says they can do it) but I would do it myself.

If you don't have this sorted already you may want to see if 89531 is accepted in #13. Beyond that I don't have any other suggestions.

Thanks, Dana, but that code is not accepted either.

So, I finally had some time and figured out how to enable the SIM card slot for a personal data SIM:

Use external SIM for data Connection in MIB2
[5F - Information Electronics][Adaptation - 10]
Select "Internal SIM card; use"
Select "automatic" from New value drop down (always is the default in the US to use the eSIM for all data connections)
Save and restart MIB2

Seems to be working fine as far as I can tell. Now I have to wait for the new VCDS to see if STG46 allows me to change the lighting and enable ACC in the MIB2...

No success to enable ACC in the MMI with VCDS 16.5 and HEX-NET but I got it done without security code with the other coding tool. Now I need to find out where all the segments of the lights are so that I can play with those...

Coming back to the rear LED lights, could it be that those channels define how the segments are activated? And if so, is it just trial and error or is there a way to tell which one is left and right, brake, turn, backup, fog and normal rear lights? And if not, any hint on what other channel it might be (see http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthr...4-Prestige-(USA)&p=60426&viewfull=1#post60426 for full channel map of STG46)? Or could it even be coding?

Tried the new 16.5.1 yesterday and was able to disable ACC in MMI but I couldn't re-enable it again (request out of range), had to use the other cable to enable it

Which channel of which address was this? I'd like to try and reproduce this.

STG13 channel 7 (ID6), something with Distance Basic... in clear text.
