Depending on the vehicle in question, there may be a module or two that does an mileage calculation independently of the instrument cluster, but this will generally be less accurate than the mileage in the cluster.

Check MVB 085.1 in the ECM. If available (and I believe your specific ECM & SW Level supports that), this should show you the independent mileage counter of the ECM as part of the IUPR. Since this MVB has been documented in VCDS for the last decade, every half decent odometer tweaker should be well aware of it by now. So take the value with a grain of salt, as this isn't safe to be not manipulated.

As a general approach, check Control Modules 01, 02, 03 and 15 > Adv. Meas. Values > Load Selection From File > "Vehicle Assessment". These pre-selections which are included with VCDS will cover many more modern engine, transmission and brake electronics as well as airbag systems with relevant data to help with a possible purchase or to assess some of the vehicle history. (This won't do too much in this specific case though, as the vehicle is indeed rather old.)

Could this be a feature request?

A button that checked all the modules that contain mileage and just displays it, in a table, so module 01 is reporting xxxx miles, module 02 is reporting xxxx miles, and so forth.

I have been asked multiple times to check the mileage on cars for prospective buyers, and agreed yes mileage can be changed, but it would be convenient.

Something related has been on our wishlist for some time, though with very low priority because of all sorts of different platforms and modules.

Use the aforementioned "Vehicle Assessment" instead, it's more precise and provides more context than a single mileage per module ever would.
