I am having a nightmare of a time trying to readapt my keys to my 2012 VW Passat with VCDS.
Both fobs desynced from the car when I disconnected the battery for a long period of time. I followed the manual and that didn't work at all. The thing is that the the panic button works on both fobs, so all the wireless connectivity to the car from the fob works, the lock buttons don't. So with VCDS, I tried following the relearn procedure under the 09 module. So I cleared the learned parameters, power cycled the car, and then set the relearn to 2, because I had 2 fobs. I pressed the unlock button on each one for a few seconds within the 15 second window after hitting test. It didn't work. I tried it quite a few times. As soon as I would hit done, VCDS would freeze, as in unresponsive for 10 minutes. Mind you, the car is still driveable, just keyless entry doesn't work. Both fobs have new batteries. This is my autoscan, and the only faults that show up are not related to keyless entry. I do also have a debug mode log but I am not sure if it was done correctly.
Also something to keep in mind is that this car hasn't seen a dealer in about a decade, barring recall work. I am not sure if it has old firmware on various modules or not. I would assume so?
