I had to bypass the heater core last week to get me home from west Belfast as the RAC could not help!
I got the replacement core and the two quick connect hoses 5Q0 122 073 bk and 5Q0 122 157 CL, but when removing the old quick connects the lower one actually snapped the aluminiun flange from the firewall so now I need to find the part number for the two aluminium pipes that go from the firewall to the heater core, any help would be greatly appreciated.

VIN: WVWZZZ3CZHE084273
License Plate: GF66ZPW
Chassis Type: 3C-VW48 (5Q0)
Engine (J623-CRLB)

£73.90 and £21.50 respectively plus VAT noting that these are only for cars fitted with the VALEO system, not DENSO.

Take great care with those little V band clamps, they are hard steel and the pipes made from very soft aluminium and it is easy to damage the flares on the pipes and matix. We had to redo the pipes and matrix on a genuine matrix fitted by a local competitor where the left footwell started to fill with coolant.

Parts arrived but the pipes are a totally different shape and the clamps are not correct either! FFS it's cold at 5 in the morning now!

Open the glovebox and lift up the tabs in each corner so you can lower the lid down as if changing the pollen filter, which name is on the cover, Valeo or Denso?

Thanks, the place I ordered from lllparts.co.uk answered my email and basically said the parts sent fit my car by VIN I sent, so no hope of refund or replacement. So if I order more parts they need to be correct. I have attached a picture of the heater core that was replaced. All help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah, PL24 could not determine what was correct based on VIN so ETKA and all of the other sources would fail (without pro tips from a tech/active parts guy).

I think that page I posted is correct. Online photos of your heater core (5Q0 819 031 A) look a lot like the flanges on the old one unit per your photo.

Edit, here's Crasher's website: https://www.candrenterprises.co.uk/info/contact-us/

I'd shoot them an email with a link to this thread. I'm sure they will get you sorted.

Why don't you go to your local VW dealer Johnsons, find the parts counter, give them your VIN and tell them it is a Denso system, they will know what to do.

Pipe set 5Q2 819 857
Matrix 5Q0 819 031 A
Clamp set 5Q0 898 400

Tiny differences in part number, big physical difference.

Excercise your right to return within 14 day cooling off period. Unsed and not fitted.
Dont always assume llparts is the cheapest, dealers/tps can wwork out a cheaper and not have the delay like lllparts have.

LLL parts are dodgy, they take your money saying they can get the part, then say they can't and drag their heels over a refund... avoid!

Thank you for your help, I went to TPS for the flex hoses but when the aluminium flanges snapped I was stuck due to work and time so I needed to order them online for delivery as I could not get to TPS to order in person, lesson learned!

Does anyone have a guide on how to remove and refit the pipes?
