SFD is now a full Release

SFD Service is no longer in Beta, it is now a full release.

• That means it will no longer be possible to sign up for free, with one exception:
  - People who bought interfaces with unlimited VIN licenses after 2023-01-01 and have not yet signed up are still eligible for a free year.
  - Anyone else who didn't sign up during the Beta must now purchase an 1-year subscription. Pricing is:
  - $100/year for "Professional" interfaces with Unlimited VIN licenses purchased before 2023-01-01
  - $50/year for "Enthusiast" interfaces with VIN-Limited licenses.
  
  
• Anyone who did sign up for free during the Beta period still has service for however much time remains from when they signed up.
  - If you currently have service, you do not need to purchase a subscription immediately; feel free to wait until your SFD Service is close to running out.
  
  
• It would not surprise me if we had some glitches with our internal systems as we transition to paid subscriptions.
  - Your patience is appreciated.
  - If anything goes wrong, we'll try our best to make it right.

My sfd beta subscription is about to expire.
I saw that for unlimited VIN, I can purchase a 1 year subscription for $100. And I see that it is asking me for a picture with my ID again. Why is it asking me again, even though I submitted it for beta?

Every time you sign up for SFD, your personal photo ID must be submitted. We do not keep your IDs on file. This is a requirement of the EU/GDPR regulations. We do keep certain data but not the photo. Please read all about what we must do: https://www.ross-tech.com/sfd-tos.php

It just meant service active but no further details like enthusiast vs pro. VCDS was not programmed to interpret that code

Nope. VW was not very happy with us for supporting offline tokens to begin with and required us to remove that feature once we had on-line SFD.
