Hoping i can be considered for a late entry to the SFD Beta, i only found out about it 2 days ago.
I am happy to share whatever info its takes that my novice level VCDS skills can condure up.

I have had a few strange things go on with this car, like missing ROD file messages and odd warnings pop up, but my other desire is to turn off (or default to off) some annoying features of the car that i have to turn off every time i get in it, like lane change assist
I am only a owner/ enthusiast but it does seem that there are not too many threads/ not too much knowledge about this car out there, so maybe i can be of some assistance in my rudimentary way.

I am starting this thread on my lunch break at work, with a view to upload a full scan in a few hours when i get home.


On another note, i have decided to dedicate some time to learn and understand VCDS better, because it seems there arent' a lot of people in my part of the world who have a deep understanding of it (at least, people outside of registered repairers).

Don't get your hopes up too much. Your car has lots of modules that are locked down with SFD2.

Also, there's a mandatory update to VCDS coming within the next ~24h, so don't be surprised if you have to install a new version.

I did make it quite clear that i am a complete novice at this.

I have just successfully managed to change the lane change assist to remember the last setting.
I did this obviously with the SFD functionality, but by first disabling the diagnostic filter in 19-CAN Gateway, then by going into A5 and using the long coding helper to change byte 9, bit 0-1 from E to F.
Im quite happy with this, and i have learned something along the way, which was my second priority.

I did this obviously with the SFD functionality, but by first disabling the diagnostic filter in 19-CAN Gateway, then by going into A5 and using the long coding helper to change byte 9, bit 0-1 from E to F.

That makes sense since module A5 has no SFD or SFD2 of its own. That means it's possible to modify things in that module after de-activating the filter in the Gateway.
