I have a 2011 V6 diesel Touareg SE Bluemotion. My first mistake was letting the car stand for 3 years without any use.
When I tried to re-use the car there were so many problems with it, mostly relating to water ingress and a flat battery.
It has taken me at least 18 months to get the car into a useable condition, although there are still issues that need resolving. The steering angle sensor fault is at the route of quite
a few of the faults, but my current focus is on the radio.
The car is equipped with an RNS85 Dynaudio unit. The radio had an issue with the head unit in the luggage compartment. I looped out the optic fibre link with a patch and the remaining features of the infotainment system worked as it should. I then sourced a used unit with identical numbers and fitted it.
The radio came to life immediately but with issues.
1.. The radio cuts out for 2 seconds every 2 seconds (only the radio, the media, bluetooth and telephone all work as they should.)
2.. Only the right front channel of the audio works (passenger front and both rear speakers are silent)
Initially, I thought that the used unit was faulty, but on further reading through many internet articles, I discovered that this exact issue has been experienced by others.
As for a resolution to the issue, there are more than enough opinions but none seem definitive.
Therefore, I am hoping that there is an answer waiting on this forum.
