I have a NAR 2017 VW Golf R that I was driving through heavy-ish rain yesterday and while traveling along a relatively smooth road, the following C1103 error in Module 13 showed up on the dash/VCDS. This shows that there's registered vertical misalignment of my ACC radar. I did a physical check of the radar and nothing appears to be misaligned or that it was damaged by some incidental impact that I was not aware of. I've since driven the car 20-30 miles with the hope that it might clear but alas, it is still locked in and unable to be cleared (makes sense).
At this point I am "assuming" (and hoping) that it was somehow jarred enough to just knock it out of the original calibration angle. I did a little bit of digging and found this previous post regarding a similar issue which points to this German wiki to statically or dynamically (re)calibrate the radar (5Q0907572H H10 0620). With the particular HW/SW model of radar it appears as if I can do either sort of calibration. I was looking for some guidance on which calibration I should try and perform first. If I do the dynamic calibration, should I be resetting the vertical and horizontal values to zero or just the vertical? If I do the static calibration, can I just place a sufficiently wide board 120 cm from the from of the car (with the assumption it's essentially vertical) as I don't have a garage and it would seem easier to place a board than moving a car?
