Hi,

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I've been troubleshooting the air suspension on my Audi for a while. I recently replaced one of the ride height sensors and successfully completed the suspension calibration using the guides on this forum. The suspension now appears to be working normally, and the vehicle raises and lowers as expected.

However, I still have one fault that I can't clear:

"Basic setting of deflected position not performed."

I've tried running the basic setting multiple times and have followed several forum threads describing the procedure, but every attempt ends with the same message:

"ERROR: Conditions not correct or request sequence error."

I'm obviously missing something, but I can't figure out what. Is there a specific prerequisite or sequence that needs to be followed before performing the deflected position basic setting?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The key points should be in posts 3 and the Wheel Change Mode in 9 may be needed.

Yes, i tried to follow this tread, but still got the same fault code.

I have also 0% on the height raw values, and get the "security access needed" fault when trying to change. I did not find any code wich gives me the correct access yet.

I havent had a battery charger available when trying before, but I will try with a battey charger connected tomorrow. (I guess this should be connected to the battery in the footwell at the passenger side?

OK, ERROR: Conditions not correct or request sequence error sounds more like a prerequisite that's not met rather than an error caused by needing a SA code. Try to clear ALL DTCs with the hood open before the next attempt. I don't know if it (in addition to all door latches) needs to be closed prior to the actual procedure but opening it initially should disable the diagnostic firewall.

Make sure the 12V battery charger is connected to the dedicated charging/jump start ports rather than the 12V battery directly. This is critical so the battery manager sees the current flow. Those are usually under the hood (engine bay). The one on my 2022 e-tron 55 is on the right front strut tower area but my battery is in the cowl so the Q7 may not be setup the same.

I would guess the 486 mm is to low.
Move it, or whatever is possible, before going further on that step.

Hi, I followed your guide step by step with the charger connected, but unfortunately the same error code appeared again. I have also tried with the hood both open and closed.
I also tried running the full suspension calibration once more, guided by DrPeter. Everything was successful until I reached the deflected calibration stage, where the issue occurred again.

What would you recommend as the next step?

If this isn't sorted already I agree with NEtech. The left front value looks too low. Here's the low mile/nearly new car condition data from my mine:

The next time you have access to a lift I would:

1) Make a Measuring Value function map on address 74 before you lift it.

2) Lift it until the wheels can hang and then repeat another map.

You can open each of those CSV files with Notepad, select and copy the contents and then paste them in-between CODE tags (like the Auto-Scan) so they look like my baseline thread. That should show us all of the groups with the suspension loaded and then again unloaded.

Also, let us know which sensor was replaced, if the old one failed due to damage versus electrical errors and try to get us the part number that they sold you.

Sorry for the delay. If this is not fixed I see that your Absolute (meaning live readings) are fairly reasonable but the right front is 6 to 7 mm greater than the left front in both positions:

If this is not fixed I would try to do the standard calibration once more. After doing so see if the right front "deviation" values look better before attempting the deflected calibration again.

Repeating the standard calibration does not help then make sure the new sensor they sold you was: 4M0 941 286 D

Where is the part from? I've had some aftermarket level sensors that werent quit good as the OEM, so often you buy twice...
