Thank you for your comments. This advertisement was placed intentionally to reach qualified candidates with a broader range of Audi and European automotive experience.

If anyone has constructive suggestions on a more effective venue for finding an experienced Audi technician, I am certainly open to hearing them. Unfortunately, the traditional job posting sites have not produced the results we are looking for, so we are exploring alternative avenues to connect with skilled professionals.

This ad sounds like an act of desperation. There are no techs coming into this field. Most seasoned guys do not want to deal with the garbage that is flat rate. Yes good help is hard to find this is why holding onto existing talent is a lesson that's always learned in a very hard way. If the dealerships are having an impossible time trying to find someone qualified well then you're going to have a even harder time finding one, but hey if your paying between 50-70$ an hour you may find someone, because that's what it's gonna take to get somebody good.

That's exactly why we're looking beyond the traditional hiring approach. We're open to experienced technicians, dealership technicians looking for a change, and mechanically inclined enthusiasts who have a strong foundation and a genuine desire to learn. We specialize in vintage and classic European vehicles, so attitude, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn are just as important as years of experience.

Regarding compensation, we understand that skilled technicians deserve to be paid fairly. Pay is competitive and based on experience, skill level, and what the candidate brings to the table. We're looking for the right long-term fit, not simply the lowest-cost hire.

No disrespect but as a former factory trained tech, I would not recommend anyone go into the auto industry as a tech. Yes we need thousands of additional skilled techs but the compensation, job difficulty and abuse the body must endure is just terrible in my many years of experience. A quality tech can do much better in other fields instead of automotive. As a former independent repair facility owner I do sympathize with you and the others. It's close to a "No Win" situation IMO.

I hope you find the tech that you are looking for but I expect keeping them might be difficult if you do.

No disrespect taken. Thank you for sharing your perspective and for your years in the industry. I can certainly understand where you're coming from, and many of the challenges you mentioned are real. The automotive trade has changed significantly over the years, and attracting and retaining skilled technicians has become increasingly difficult.

That said, we still believe there are people who genuinely enjoy the craft of diagnosing, repairing, and restoring automobiles—especially vintage and classic European vehicles. Our goal is to provide an environment where quality workmanship is valued, technicians are respected, and they have the opportunity to continue learning and working on vehicles that many enthusiasts only dream of seeing. We also seldom work on major jobs, which helps keep the work focused and manageable.

Just from my perspective, as an “enthusiast”, if I were “tempted”, it would have helped for you to indicate a location.
Though gen Z and young folks entering the job market are more flexible, moving is not always an option.
So where is this opportunity?

The whole post is vague AF. Need someone... can't find anyone... It almost has a telemarketing sound to it.

So, without knowing anything, you are not willing to pay for the level of skill you're after, or the environment is garbage, or you're out in da Stix, or any combination of those.
