Please start a new thread in this section and include the information we need to try to determine what's going on there:

Simply saying, "kept erroring" doesn't tell us much at all.

Hi,

I have a 2024 Audi SQ5, and all I want to do is reset the 1-year / 18,000-mile inspection service reminder. I already own a HEX-V2 and I'm not looking to do any coding or adaptations—just reset the service light.

I understand that my vehicle has SFD/SFD2 protection. If I purchase the $50/year (12-month) SFD Unlock subscription, will I be able to reset the inspection service reminder myself, or will SFD2 still prevent it?

I know full SFD2 support isn't available yet, so I'm wondering if a basic service reset is currently possible with the subscription, or if I'll still have to take the vehicle to the dealer.

SFD2 does not prevent normal service functions like resetting SRIs or working on the EPB; regular SFD unlocking is sufficient for that.

We are not selling SFD subscriptions at this time. However, you can participate in the SFD Beta test for free, and I'm confident you'll be able to reset your service reminder. See the last paragraph of post #1 in this thread:

Hi Uwe, after setting the SFD password for the first time, I didn’t get the “VCDS SFD Access Password Reset” email. Could you check why? I suspect it’s because the email I used when registering for the SFD function is different from the one I used when first registering my VCDS. For reference, I have three VCDS interfaces. The emails in question are [redacted] and [redacted].

Yes. The e-mail we sent in response to your SFD Service order even stated:

NOTE: Password confirmation links will be sent to the e-mail address at which your interface is registered, which is different than this one.

Password confirmation e-mails with the link that you mush click always go to the e-mail address at which the interface is registered. So check that e-mail account. And if for some reason you no longer have access to that account, then you must re-register your interface using an e-mail address that you do have access to.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Google doesn't consider the dot in the email addresses it's hosting. So [redacted] and [redacted] are practically the same. But I didn't receive any such email for the password creation.

Update: I changed the email associated with the VCDS interface to the one I sign up in the SFD option and the resubmitted the password change and shortly after that I received the email.

I'm not sure what that e-mail has to do with us.

I suggest you finalize the new registration that you submitted some hours ago, which has just been approved, then try setting your password again.

Got this working today, thank you for the extremely quick set-up!!! Worked flawlessly (not that I didn't expect it to).
One question I had, do you all expect this unlock procedure will work the same when I am flashing an ECU or TCU? (i.e. installing performance software)

I don't know. We don't do any flashing.

Hi,

I would be grateful to obtain a one year free subscription to unlock SFD. The cable HEX-V2 was purchased last year on a German website, so all registration was done there, but they redirected me from their forum to here.
I've wasted aimlessly too much time on their forums, so I hope to get some valuable help here. The cable was purchased mostly for making service on one car, which I intensively use every day (1000km a veek), so I do the service myself every two month, changing oil, all filters etc, brake pads every 10 month. So I need a useful cable, not just for AutoScan and erise errors.

Have installed VCDS Beta 26.7.2
Config channel changed to Beta, Updated

Even trying to purchase subscriptions and have this message:

Well, you were posting in English on a German forum.

You have a VIN-Limited ("Enthusiast") interface. It is not eligible for a free year. However, you can get three months for free if you follow the instructions in the first post of this thread:

https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/54957/

Pay particular attention to the last paragraph in boldface.

Note however, that if you are still driving a Ford, our SFD Service may not work on it, despite it being "95% VW Caddy". VW is not giving us SFD tokens for Ford VINs.

OK, I'll be happy to get even three month for free. But why is SFD service not available for my interface even if I want to buy a year subscription?

I did unlock SFD on my car before when I changed rear brake pads, so your SFD Service is working on my car. The guy from PCI remotely connected to my PC by team viewer and unlocked it (cost me €30 for one session). It was already done twice.
