No Start when Pressing the Kessy button but it will turn over from time to time with hot wire.

I have a 2014 Jetta that i am working on for my nephew. I have replaced the Immobilizer in the Instrument cluster becasue vw said it was bad. They were unable to communicate with the car to program a new key. I used a Autel IM608II Pro to reprogram the Immo from the doner car and have now successfully programed 4 keys to the vehicle. When i press the Start/Stop button all i see is a yellow steering wheel on the dash.
I then replaced the IMMO ESCL on the car. I also programmed it to match the vin and the CS code and Power code from the other unit... Still no Luck...
I have jumpered pen 50 and the car turns over and trys to catch tbe the IMMO stops the car from running.

I have scanned the car with the IM608 and the VCDS..

I hope someone can help me figure out where to go...

Any help would be appreciated .

look like you'll need the immobilizer aligned between ecu, cluster and electric steering column lock. it's not something vcds can do in this car.

Clearly immo is fucked in this vehicle. Those third party tools do not work well with anything VAG. Asian and domestic vehicles yes but VAG is just asking for trouble. Clearly immo is not properly matched. I would say I am able to assist but given the fact that this has been fucked up and data was manually manipulated god only knows what the issue is. My suggestion would be to unfuck whatever was fucked with and restore all data to original state then use ODIS to match it all together. Less mess and less headache.

When i took the vehilce to VW and they connected their ODIS to it, they informed me that they could not scan the vehicle. They said that there were issues with the vehicles Immo Communication. The dash only half worked at that point (The turn signal on the dash would not light and the speaker sound on the back was none existant.)

Can you point me in a direction to go...?

So whos lying here because the last scan I see at a dealership was on 02.25.2026 log clearly shows they can talk to every module. So whats the deal? either they fed someone a load of bullshit or we are getting a fairytale.

Many modules had faults. Including gateway. Which as I mentioned in numerous other such situations/threads, the sad part is that most likely this vehicle only needed a gateway module.

Someone explain to me how someone comes to the conclusion that a cluster is bad based on these faults in the gateway:

It to me sounds like you think the Gateway is bad and needs replaced. is that correct?

That is something that i have not replaced yet.

Gateway replacement is BCM replacement in this car and you'd need VW/online for that as well to learn the remote keys on a kessy car. That's not a VCDS job.
I agree with Ziddy that the immo is very unlikely to be the culprit. Either gateway is bad or something in the powertrain CAN network is not happy and pulling it down.

Mileage mismatch will not cause it not to start. I would look at bcm/gateway module and inspect wiring. However given the fact that data has been manipulated first the foremost vehicle should be returned into its original state prior to doing anything further.

Why wouldnt we try a cheap gateway vs a bcm? Also note if the vehicle is not back in its original state prior to all this we can only guess what the issue is.

Check the HW part number of the 09-BCM and 19-Gateway. Both 5C0 937 087 A.

The bcm contains the gateway on this vehicle.

No Start when Pressing the Kessy button but it will turn over from time to time with hot wire.
