Hello,

On my Golf IV, I'm trying to change the fuel consumption reading in VCDS section 17 - Instruments.

Unfortunately, channel 03, which should allow this adjustment, is not editable.

Do you have a solution?

Thank you.

Ignore the engine fault; this results from the physical removal of the EGR valve. I don't have a warning light on the dashboard, but this fault still appears during scans.

Regarding access to the adaptation of channel 03 in block 17 Instruments, activating code 13861 does not allow me to make the modification!

Thnak you.

Do you have a solution?
Nope. Since you've already a Login with 13861, it appears that your cluster has that channel locked.

FWIW, we've seen some clusters of that vintage in which that channel doesn't exist at all.

Thank you for your reply. Is it impossible to unblock this channel using some kind of "sophisticated manipulation"?

You mean via some kind of back-door approach? Maybe, but I'm not sure, because we don't get involved in such things.

It's rare that these channels aren't available but as Uwe already wrote, it's not unheard of. There are different instrument cluster firmware versions and configurations out there and channels can be enabled/disabled in the actual firmware. If that is the case (as it seems here), there is no way to enable them after the fact.

Long story short, you need to live with the situation as it is.
