Hey all, bought a 2013 Audi S4 sight unseen from what I thought was a decent dealer. 
Turns out they got me good. Bought the car back in December and have had the issues since.
Some are resolved, the car had undisclosed water intrusion from a failed or improperly installed windshield.
The e380 (mmi control panel) is still dead.
Things I've done so far = Replace the J794 (5f) with a known working unit from eBay, and had Component Protection removed.
Then, I recoded the 5f to my old s4's settings to restore the navigation and other features.
So, I now can control the MMI directly with my steering wheel, audio, volume, station etc.
I replaced ALL wiring from the 5f to the e380 16 pin connector.
I replaced the e380 and I also have 2 spare e380s at this point.
Voltage is as follows:
Ground is perfect 0.0 ohm
Power is 12-13v
Wake is fluctuating
LIN to/from static around 5v
Res BT gets fluctuating voltage around 1-3v
Res MU gets 0v and always has
The e380 does not light up and I cannot navigate through the MMI with the control panel, but the reset command (setup + center knob + top right button) does reset the 5f.
Since I've replaced the 5f, the e380 and the wiring, what the hell else could be going on? Unless my wiring is weird somehow, although I bought the correct terminals and did confirm I wired everything properly.
Maybe the 16 pin connector itself is causing some issues?
Note: SVM fault code only appeared after Audi removed CP from the "new" 5f unit and they must have updated firmware.
Any ideas are welcome.
Also, secondarily: Cylinder 6 keeps intermittently misfiring. I've already replaced the coil packs with upgraded ECS tuning coil packs and changed out spark plugs.
So... next, potentially fuel injectors? Although I'd expect it to be more of a consistent misfire if it was fuel related. The other thing is carbon or vacuum. Idk. Thoughts appreciated before I dig in this weekend..
