Good evening. My friend recently purchased a 2017 Audi A6 from a dealer in the midlands. he has had the car back to them to resolve a couple of issues, primarily with the DPF, I have scans from before it went to them for this work, but it has been back and appeared to be fine until this week when the traction control, ABS, TPMS, Parking brake fault and adaptive headlamp warnings all came up on the dash. I have scanned the car, done some simple tests and have not been able to diagnose the problem. despite a front right wheel speed sensor fault being present and the most obvious starting point, a correct reading appeared to be coming from the sensor. I had a new sensor to hand and swapped it out just to see if that affected the issue however all codes remained the same.
I am wondering if anyone has seen a similar issue?

Did you clear faults in the ABS after swapping out the sensor?

Have you considered the possibility that there's an intermittent problem with the wiring or connections between the ABS module and the sensor?

Hi, thanks for the reply,
I did try clear the codes through the auto scan dialogue initially and they did not all clear. I found that if I went through each individual controller I could clear the codes but they would reappear on ignition cycle. I did clear faults in all systems after installing the sensor but upon ignition cycle, the same set came back again. I was still getting what appeared to be good speed readings on all sensors.
I did consider that there may be an issue with the wiring between the abs module and the sensor, or potentially an internal fault with the module.
I will advise that the wiring is tested by an auto electrician, but wondered if someone had come across a similar issue.
I can see how a fault with a wheel speed sensor would cause an abs fault and subsequent cascade of errors through other modules, one error I am curious about is the: 9682162 - Multiple collision brake, error message and if this is to be expected as part of a fault such as the wheel speed sensor?

all the systems that will use the brakes needs signals from the wheel speed sensors, it doesnt need to brake for example if the car is not rolling..
You need to use a Bosch or OEM sensor but a broken wire harness in the C7 A6 is common, i have changed several allready.

Hi. Reporting back resolution. wiring checked and tested and a short 2-3 inch section of one of the wires in the wheel arch oxidised inside the insulation. the outer casing appeared undamaged as did the insulation on the wire itself. repair done and all codes cleared.
