Hi all,
I have a VW Polo AE1 here with crash damage. The car has been repaired but the electric power steering does not work.
There was also another fault in the car, as soon as the hood switches are closed, the engine turns off and the car starts tripping. After some research, it turns out that the ground on the left chassis beam was not good.
The steering wheel is still very heavy. I tried resetting with Odis, parameters, even reflashing but it fails.
The control module shows an internal fault short circuit.
I have a feeling that due to the ground problem before and the car tripping, the electric power steering module went defect and needs to replaced. Before changing components, I want to ask if someone has different ideas what to check/do
