Resolved A4 B8.5 Service Message Reset

Hi,

After servicing the car (A4 B8.5 3.0 TDI), I've been trying to reset the service message for few days trying different ideas from the internet, but no success. Changing the value in Channel 2 in Instrumentation from 2 to 0 didn't work, even though when testing it it seems to accept it. Using the VCDS reset routine for the rest of the world (I am in Australia) didn't work. I tried both with the hood open, without success. Changing the value in Chanel 2 from 2 to 1 didn't work either.
I think all values regarding servicing and oil change are correct. I am running out of ideas. Can someone review the scan below and see if I am doing anything wrong or I will have to leave with the service reminder for the rest of my life.

Thanks for the suggestion. I am pretty sure I had these values entered in the respective adaptation channels, but I'll try again tonight and let you know the outcome.

I can't really picture that; this is old-school, pre-UDS stuff and we haven't changed anything in that area in quite some time. However, I'm a bit puzzled that Channel 2 has a value of 2. Normally I'd expect to see that value to be 1 when service is due.

I wonder if @Sebastian has any ideas here.

The values seem generally correct, but I am having trouble to locate if this car was originally delivered with fixed or flexible intervals. Since we don't have access to the service history and specific information for the Australian market isn't made readily available by Audi, please check your service plan to see what the previous intervals were.

Have you made any reset attempts via the MMI?

The only reset done via the MMI was for oil change.
I don't know what was the original service interval for the car when it was brand new. Probably fixed interval based on the below screen shot of the original service history.



Since I purchased it about 6 years ago, the service interval has always been fixed. This is the first time the service reminder refuses to reset.

Let's try this backwards and force the issue...

Set 40=149, 41=364, 53=299 & 55=729 then wait for the day counter to turn over (midnight) AND drive for the next 100 km to complete so ALL events are triggered.

Then reset them and see where that takes you.

It did work at the end. Here is what I did in case this helps someone else with the same problem

First I run a scan and saved the values in Channels 02 to 56 before setting the respective values as advised above. Drove the car in the following day until it clicked over 100km. Performed reset for fixed mileage for the rest of the world (I am in Australia).
That reset the relevant Channels including Channel 2. The service reset message has disappeared. I set the values in the variable channels (40, 41, 47, 48, 53 and 55) to the values obtained in the the scan I did before the reset.
Turned the ignition off and on, run another scan, Channel 2 was back to 1, but no message appeared!?
After setting Channel 2 to 0 manually (Adaptations in 17 - Instrumentation) it stayed that way over multiple off / on cycles. The service message hasn't come up on the display (yet).

I don't know what caused the problem and why this strange sequence of events was required to fix it, but it's all good now.
