2014 Audi A1 Steering Assist

I would be grateful if you could help me with the following.
When I parked the car at night it had no problems, the following morning I started the car and the yellow steering symbol showed up on the dash.
The steering had no assistance and I had no problems with the steering prior to this. The car is fitted with an AGM battery.
I plugged in the VCDS and erased the codes but it comes back instantly.
The fuse under the bonnet is ok and all the connections are clean. The fuses on either side of the dash are also OK.
I've also checked the connectors on the pump and all are good with no corrosion.
Is there anything else I can check or does anyone have an idea of what might be wrong?

This is typical of pre 2016 model year pump failure due to water ingress in the electronics which rots the board as the terminal 30 voltage suggests this. We keep a TRW JER162 in stock. Usually, when you disconnect the main power plug, it is rotten and often the terminals have to be replaced which can be a trial without the tools.

The main power plug (the one with the pink sliding tab) was clean with no signs of corrosion.

It will still almost certainly be internal corrosion, the ECU is working with the ignition on but reporting low voltage to terminal 30. If continuity and voltage are correct at the plug on the power and earth, there isn’t any other explanation I can think of.

I wouldn't know as I don't drive anything modern, it's my Dad's car - I drive a old T4.
The VCDS shows 12.4v on the battery is that likely to be a problem, the car still start ok.
