Im stuck between a rock and a hard place as the saying goes. My old Ecu got bricked tried in boot mode just not been successful with it. I bought a used Ecu from the USA arrived no problem i just dont have the four pin code pin . What options do i have of finding it out so i can pair it with the Car? Its a 2004 Audi Allroad 2.7T. EDIT on the back of the Ecu I don't know if this means anything there's a white sticker with the barcode it says 11-2-2416=7. Z515 850

Kind regards

You dont have many options.

One is to get the old one cloned on to the replacement - that will depend on how "bricked it is.

Another is to do it with ODIS.

At the end of last year, VW implemented new rules on using used ECU’s, you now have to ask for permission and they send you a one time code… in theory. In December, I wanted to try a used ECU on a 2018 Passat 1.4 TFSI DSG that was randomly losing drive. I applied for the code and heard nothing so we had a specialist come round and do it. Didn’t cure the problem though, it was the gear selector occasionally telling the engine ECU it was in park whilst the gearbox ECU was saying it was in drive.

Read immo eeprom in ecm should be 95040 IIRC. Read data from immo eeprom. Get the pin and adapt. Note you will need to pull pin from both ecm's in order to adapt. Piece of cake with the right tools. Note there are lots of tools that can pull the pin for this old system.

I just thought of something it may or not work. I work at a dealership a few years ago my boss bought a water damaged Bentley from the UK had it sent to New zealand to find the ECU and bcm was water damaged. He had his ecu cloned . I remember that my boss used our generic diagnostic computer on his Bentley and it gave his 4 pin code. I might be in with a chance

So to update this thread I bought home a computer to try and reveal the pin. When I went into the ECU side of things it gave me a one time wsc code. I thought this wasn't only given out by the dealers? Also I got a 4 pin software code could this be what I'm looking for?

It was obtained using a generic scan tool.

Then no its useless. Generic scan tools cannot pull a pin for this system as mentioned. You need specialized tools to pull it. Do you have a eeprom dump or anything?

Worth putting an Autel on it then ?

Autel do make Very Good Generic Scan Tools, they also make Immo specific tools for Locksmiths / Key Coding etc.

I would do if I had one. That's why I chanced it with a generic tool. So what's the skc for if it's useless

"Generic Scan Tool" -- I suspect most of us don't think that means what you seem to think that means. ;)

Only tool that will pull a pin will be autel im508 or im608 or otofix im1 or otofix im2 or dedicated immobilizer tool like autopro pad or smartpro . Regular scan tools designed for diagnostics will not pull a pin. I have never heard of optifix what is that?

This may do it but no idea how to use it. Never heard of it.

What your trying to do isn't easy at all.
But if you get the right SKC/Pin for testing login with what you think is the SKC and just change a digit in the workshop code. If you can do that it's the correct SKC.
And changing 1 digit in work shop code won't hurt anything but will tell you if SKC is correct.

Good Luck

You can try checking if the 4 digit pin you got works by entering it while in the ecm. Note it need to be 5 digits. So if you got 4 digits then you need to put a zero at the front. Note ECM will tell you if you have the correct pin or not. The cluster will not tell you. Note you need both pins from old ecm and new in order to adapt.
