First time poster on here, long time VW/Audi owner with limited use of VCDS that I have owned.
I just picked up a 130K mile used 2015 Audi Q7, as I need a daily driver for my family. The battery that was in the car was shot, so the seller included a non-OEM Duracell battery he picked up from Sam's Club. He didn't have it installed (we jumped the battery in the car), so I installed after I brought the car home.
1) The bad battery is an AGM OEM battery, but I'm trying to figure out how to code this new non-OEM battery that does not have a BEM code. I've looked at a couple other threads and videos on here (e.g. https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/48511/) on how to code the battery using VCDS but I cannot figure out how to code the new battery capacity or technology (since I am going from AGM to EFB). I think I understand that the manufacturer or SN does not really matter (I can just increment the previous SN).
When I connect the VCDS, I go to the control module, 19-CAN Gateway, and I see protocol as "CAN" (not UDS). I then went to "Long Adaptation" (see my attached image), but I don't see anywhere to go to the adaptation channels I have seen on here to access the capacity, technology, manufacturer, or SN. Where exactly can I go to update these values? It is to my understanding that not correctly setting these may cause issues with recharging.
2) I ran autoscan on the car because a CEL appeared after I replaced the battery. It is to my understanding that I may encounter various errors after a battery is replaced and possibly if the battery is not OEM or not coded? The CEL light went away along with some other lights like TPM after I drove the car around after the battery change. I'm still seeing a lot of faults listed. Is this due to the non-OEM battery or non-coding of said battery?
The thing that stick out to me is the engine fault for the following, that P0018 code has haunted me with my previous Q3 that had timing issues early in its lifecycle. As mentioned, the engine light went away (currently) after driving around post-battery install (engine light did not appear until I installed the new battery, I roughly drove 50 miles on the bad battery after I first bought the car where no engine light was present).
