doing so will leave your ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and the associated safety features inoperable.

Leaving this here in hopes to saving someone a bit of diagnostic time. Move or delete if inappropriate. I spent an inordinate amount of time researching the problem, resetting values, trying to recalibrate, etc. When all it needed was a cleaning with some diluted rubbing alcohol. :banghead:

If you need to hard reset the sensor, this was the best tutorial I found. You’ll need to translate from OBD11 to VCDS, but it’s straightforward.

Do NOT Ceramic Coat Your Radar Sensor…

Indeed - Do not obstruct it any way !!

Volvo is just one VM that makes it clear that you cannot use filler to repair a bumper if it has any type of radar behind it !!

Some VM's will supply you with a bumper pre painted to ensure it has the correct amount of Primer & Paint on it !!

Seems too good to be true - I thought recalibrating these things required some specialist board with a dots on to correctly set this up - or maybe that's how its done to get it right first time. This method seems to imply you adjust something, drive it and if its still not happy you adjust/reset and try again.

Also, note that my comment in Post #2 was directed at the Title of the OP's post. It is very easy to forget that those modules are cameras or radar and any coating or debris could effect them.
As for the "hard reset" or adjusting the video addresses time will tell if someone with VCDS actually tries to apply this procedure.

What, you think sense is common? ;)

-Uwe-
I'm from Europe, common sense is not hard, but consumers in USA want zero liability therefore pretend they don't have any common sense.

You're from a part of Europe that suffered tribulations for a couple of generations longer than the western half, which I suspect made people retain more of that common sense.

I can confirm that the subject of this thread is not true. I am aware that not all the sensors are alike, but for my Seat Tarraco 2019 which is identical to Tiguan allspace, sensor 2Q0907561B, I used black wrap from a detailing shop to mask the bumper where it received a rock, and continued to use it and drive with ACC for aprox 1000km before it kicked the bucket internally. I have no ideea how to post pictures here, but the rock left a dent in the bumper and in the sensor also. The sensor was ejected from its support and fel behind the bumper. No issues with the wrap.
