I have a 2014 jetta sportwagon tdi and the speedometer, tach coolant guage and lighting keep cutting out, as well as all the warning lights coming on, which is a typical gateway issue. The dealership replaced the bcm, but that did not fix the issue. I figured the issue was the gateway module so I replaced it with a used one with the same part # and that did not fix the issue although i did not program the used gateway module. With the used gateway module in, the vehicle still runs fine, i just have the same issues with the guage cluster. Do I have to have the gateway module programmed to my car to fix this issue? My understanding was that if the part # was the same, it is not need to be programmed.
