Why do ABS modules always lose their coding

As an interested member and grateful VCDS user I see many posts asking for help coding ABS module. Other modules do not appear to lose their coding so why do the ABS module suffer from this with just minor interruptions

Does anyone understand why ?

MK60EC1 and similar mainly due to VIN number mismatch, when someone changes the instrument panel.

There are frequent cases where two owners change instruments and lose the coding on both vehicles.

That's why Auto Scan first, then everything else.

I think they were specified to do so when they see a different VIN so that people don't run incorrectly coded replacement modules, something that VAG perceives as dangerous, and indeed, it might be if the coding is really far off.

Security reasons.

The coding contains a Car specific abs Setup, If the Abs recognizes another vin, the Setup is No longer valid and the coding resets to all Zero.

This is a security feature built in. SAve abs coding first and have auto scan prior to replacing any module. I mean proper diagnostic procedures should be followed. How can someone diagnose a issue with a module without a auto scan/backup log?
