I'm rebuilding a front crashed MAN TGE 2021. I managed to get to repair most of the 37 fault codes but since the ACC unit was missing I was looking for a second hand one.
I found one and took my bus to the dealer and they said it was one from a VW so they couldn't code it. So I look further and found a unit from a 2022 TGE. So I wend back to
the dealer and they said they couldn't program this one either. They said something about there being a lot of different versions. But they mentioned they where sure that if they ordered a new one (=/-825,- euro) they could code it in.

So my questions are ;
- should it be possible to buy a second hand ACC unit and code this to my bus since it had an ACC unit from the factory and is it therefore worthwhile to spend 300,- on a HEX V2
- is the a way to find out what version of ACC the bus is expecting to find?

Hope this is clear since I am a novice at this.

A Dealer easy Match a 2nd Hand ACC to the Car, a Lot of Dealers wont do it, they want to sell New ones.

2nd Hand ACC unit partnumber must Match.

OK, but then I must buy a original HEX V2 first. I managed to borrow a cheap clone to do some testing but get a lot of "Unsupported vehicle. Please upgrade to a current Ross-Tech interface."

Code:
Removed. Data from a clone/pirate copy of VCDS is not acceptable in Ross-Tech's forum.

I'm sure you can understand that even borrowing a clone isn't gonna get you any sympathy here. A genuine VCDS will certainly help you pinpoint this culprit further, but learning/adapting a replacement may be a different topic. That said, let's stop here and you can come back if you decide to become a customer instead of supporting to pirate our products.

OK, I would spend the 300,- euro without any problem if anybody can tell me that coding a secondhand acc is possible. This was my initial question and then the first thing anybody asked was for an Auto-scan.
If this coding is not possible than I rather spent the money on that new ACC module.

@Heubie, your going to need the hex-v2 anyway: future fault codes, future questions , future SUPPORT here on the forum. I'll tell you this, the information you will receive here , on the forum from a world wide knowledgeable audience (not to mention the RT staff with considerable information/resources) , will FAR surpass the cost of the interface. You just experienced a "taste" of being dependent on the dealer (how did that feel!).

Your caught in a bit of a catch 22 : the forum needs the information from the (Genuine) Auto-Scan to help, but your concerned of it working out in this case. As I mentioned above, your going to need it for future repairs (on almost any VW/Audi) and forum support.

Your asking for some sort of "guarantee" ; RT , as far as I have observed, does not make guarantees as they are to ethical to make such promises.

Al right, i will roll the dice and buy a device. Could somebody point me to a approved European based reseller since every other online shop sells them with Ross Tech on them.

It took some time but I got my Hex V2 by mail. So I managed to get the Autoscan. I guess my question is not Pre-Sale anymore.
So 2 questions:
-Do I still put it in this form?
-How do I get it in its own "scroll box"?

It may easier if you start a new post with the question and all the details of what parts you have already replaced etc

To make your autoscan go into its own scrollable box, add code tags from the toolbar above where you type and post the scan in between the tags

Best regards

You won't be able to do the ACC with VCDS only, you can code but swap codes you cannot input in. You need other tools for that. And is doable on second hand components of course.

I will do but since I don't have privileges to write in other forms I will have to do this in this form.

Oh..... that was my initial question...... so how do I get the "codes to be swapped"?

SWaP is Software as A Product. It is based on FeC codes Feature Enable Codes that activate certain features on the car. These codes are calculated for the module based on the module info, car VIN and some xyz parameters in VW servers and then written to the unit.
This is not just coding what I'm trying to say. You need to enable the ACC first and then you can code it via VCDS. That enablation cannot be done with VCDS.

Also looking at your coding you posted to the other thread. You have component protection enabled which also requires dealer connection.

The way how to activate the radar codes without dealer and on any car, is published but needs some advanced knowledge to do. I can do that work remotely for you but you will need some additional harware for it

It's not really xyz, it's fec data with VIN, VCRN, DATE and its hash signed with RSA private key and it's exponent. But as name states it's private. Problably stored somewhere in HSM meaning nobody really knows as it's generated inside HSM and not exposed. Never....

And good luck solving the Discrete logarithm problem :)
