Hi just joined the forum, I need help with a 2009 1.9 TDI A3, it has fault code p0698 that is constantly active, other codes will clear etc until after some drivings done and this is the only one bringing on a light. I need to find out what all is on "c circuit". I thought it was g185 accelerator pedal sensor as it was only getting .4v supply to it and traced it back to the ECU Which was only putting out .4v so I replaced the ECU with a 2nd hand one and de immobilised it so the car would run but p0698 is still active and the glow plug light still flashes.

Tested again and tried giving the sensor 5v from the other sensor in the pedal and it cleared the fault, so when I removed the wire I used to bridge across to make a permanent fix it didn't bring the fault back on and it is now getting it's 5v.

Do not put the 5V together at the pedal, unless you like gambling your life. Because the next single failure (0V line fault) will cause ecu to think you pressed the pedal to full.

Just DO NOT DO IT. You might hurt others for no fault of their own.

Have you considered a broken wire.

How would that work? It's the 5v supply to 5v supply, I could see it happen if it was the signal wire back to the ECU or something, if it drops it's supply to both sensors the pedal doesn't work.

I had but have no idea what wires to look for as I don't know what "c" circuit is and what sensors are on it. V at the plug match V from the ECU and earth have 0 ohms. So I think wires to the pedal are good. Where could I find out what sensors are on that circuit

Because frankly, you do not understand electrics and electronics. You have been warned, up to you now. Be aware, VIN is public, license plate as well, if there is a crash, you will be found, internet does not forget anything.

VIN: WAUZZZ8P59A098353 License Plate: JL08MCC Mileage: 321860km-199994mi Repair Order: ALICIA CLEARY

Lets agree that is far better and safer to fix it correctly.

Oh it will be fixed correctly, why could giving it an alternative 5v supply be a problem? Isn't it the signal back to the ECU that determines the ecus outputs? Or am I missing something.

Remember that your hosts on this forum may have some culpability. When it comes to safety issues it would be wise to be cautious for everyone's sake.

Just get a diagram and look for the break or the ECU output on that pin.

It seems that you are more than capable !

I'll rewind. We seem to have got off on the wrong foot. Ttt seems to think I've done something wrong. At the moment the car sits in original condition, no repairs done. Faults have cleared after I tested in situ, not driving, I've asked him for clarification on how giving it an alternative 5v supply would give the car full throttle. I don't see how but everydays a school day. I know the ECU output for that pin, it's giving same voltage as I'm getting at the pin on the throttle plug. I cannot find diagrams anywhere on the internet

My main questions are where can I get a wiring diagram/schedule and does anyone know what sensors are on "c" circuit?

You need to suspect and may need to unplug every 5v Sensor connected to that ECU. Regardless of Circuit a, b, c or d. Often they are all connected in the module !!

First cut the wire that feeds the pedal - What you got.
