Jetta 2014 Readiness Monitors failed inspection

Hi everyone,
I have a 2014 VW Jetta that's currently failing the emissions test due to several monitors not being ready (see attached image). Over the past month, I've performed the recommended drive cycle multiple times, including a long trip (~250 miles this past weekend). While the EVAP monitor finally set to "Ready," the others are still incomplete.
To try and resolve this, I purchased a HEX-V2 interface after reading that you can set readiness via VCDS. However, I don’t see the option to manually set readiness in the software.
I've been trying the "Automatic Test Sequence" in VCDS. Sometimes it runs for a few minutes and then I get a timeout alarm. Other times, I get two fault codes related to the cooling fan (DTC P0691 – Fan 1 Control Circuit Low), which might be interfering with the readiness process.

Here are a few more details:

I’ve driven the car many miles with mixed driving conditions.
The readiness monitors (aside from EVAP) still won’t set.
VCDS does not give me the "Set Readiness" option that others have mentioned.
I’m including the log from the failed auto test sequence and the full auto-scan.
Before starting the Automatic Test Sequence I am deleting the codes

Does anyone have advice on:

How to get the remaining monitors to set?
Whether the fan fault (P0691) could be preventing readiness?
If there’s a workaround in VCDS or something I’m missing?

Any tips to help me pass the emissions test would be greatly appreciated!

every time you delete fault codes the readiness test wil be set to failed for al sensors.
First try to fix the fan module..
Then you have to drive at least 15mins with 60mph roads, idle for traffic light etc, so a normal drive to your work for example in normal traffic.

Yup. Fix whatever is causing that.

The formatting it produces is intended for a sheet-fed printer, but it's much harder to read here than the native text that VCDS produces. That native text can be had using the [Copy] button in VCDS, or by opening any of the .txt files in your Logs or Scans sub-folder with Notepad and then copying the data to paste here.

Hi everyone,

It’s me again. I replaced the fan this weekend, and the fault code cleared successfully. However, I’m now having trouble completing the Automatic Test in VCDS. The procedure runs through all the steps, but when it reaches the final stage — CAT Conversion Test Bank 1 — it just keeps running indefinitely. After about 10 minutes, VCDS displays TIMEOUT.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? I still have the CAT, FUEL, and O2S readiness monitors showing Not Ready. I’ve attempted the test several times with the same result. At this point, I’m not sure what else to check or whether something in the system is preventing the monitor from completing.

I’m also attaching a copy of the Auto-Scan log for reference.

This is the Auto Scan, as you can see there aren't any mayor faults. Just the one for the radio I google it and it is related to the Satelite radio.

which sensor doesnt pass the readiness test, IF you clear faultcodes in 01 Engine, the readiness test will reset to FAIL for all sensors, so don't erase a fault code in 01 Engine

It passes almost all test but it is getting stuck in the final test for the CAT converter test. Even if I run that test by its own the test runs forever until VCDS displays the timeout. I havent erase any code from Engine. And I dont have any fault present

You might have an air leak or lazy oxygen sensor preventing the Cat test from completing. That should flag a new DTC .... but any saved scans that you have before the readiness was cleared may add clarity.

In the meanwhile I would get the engine up to temp and immediately after driving it, pull over/park with it still at idle, connect VCDS and try all of the individual oxygen sensor Basic Settings self-tests while standing. Ideally all should pass in a timely manor and it would be ideal if all of the Oxygen sensor Readiness bits were passed as well. If that happens you can try the [*IDE00553*] Automatic test procedure again (it should go very quick as long as the engine is still running) -or- run all 4 of the Basic Settings that mention cat manually at that time.

On a different note. If you do end up at the VW dealer I believe this ECM has a newer software level (flash update from SWL 8052 to 9360 per: https://vag-flashinfo.de/site/index?partno=06K906070F) so we can try to find the TSB on that. Either that, or you can request they update the software to the latest version on that visit.

Couple months ago I replaced the upstream sensor. Do you think I should replace the downstream?
I already did the test for the O2 sensor and all test are completed successfully but still the O2S monitor not ready, the O2 heater is already ready.
I am going to try to do the CAT again.

OK. That might be relevant. Was the MIL on for the front Oxygen sensor due to an electrical issue or was it some other type of DTC (like lean or slow response)? If you happen to locate the exact DTC (even if that's a picture of a generic code reader) please post it.

In addition, the old one was revised back in 2020 and the newest part number is: 06K 906 262 DA Please check your receipts to see if that was the part number so we can rule out aftermarket or incorrect parts as a possible explanation.
I would not go after the rear sensor at this time unless you have DTCs for it. That one is a lot more expensive.

The MIL was ON, I don't have a picture as I replaced last June. I don't remember the DTC but the MIL was ON and the car was shaking sometimes.
According to my receipts the one I bought was 06K906262N.
I was looking at rockauto and the BOSCH 17100 fits my car, I saw it is in stock at my closest autozone.
When I arrive home I am going to perform the test again. I will drive the car for about 20-30min and then I am going to perform the test.

Hi Dana,
I did all test related to the O2 sensors. All test were completed ok with no issues but the O2S monitor still not ready.

I did the CAT test but it runs forever, it stars at 2100rpm and stays there, then it falls to idle rpm's and is not sending any timeout just stays there (from the beggining to this state aprox 10mins)
I performed the following tests related to the CAT:
IDE06576-Test of Cat converter for back presure Result:System OK
IDE00742 - CAT conversion test bank 1 - Result: Running forever

Then I performed the Automatic Test:
IDE00553 - Automatic Test Procedure Result: Everything passes until it reaches the last step for the CAT at this point it runs forever with no results.
IDE04794 - Automatic Test Sequence 2 - Same result as the 553
I opened some measuring values and I was wondering if I need to get any value for the Test of catalytic converter (see image below) this value is never changing it stays at zero all time, no matter which test I am running it stays at zero.

... ran and completed I would be tempted to disconnect the battery and let it sit powered down for a while.

You will be greeted with ABS/TPMS/Steering lights after reconnecting the battery but starting the engine and turning the steering to each extreme end-stop (in each direction) followed by a short drive should sort most of it out. If the TPMS light remains make sure to check the pressures before using the button to reset it.
