Mk5 R32 Valeo tail lights, need help trying to turn just large rings on & center rings off

Valeo tail lights for mk5 R32 or GTI, trying to turn the center circle ring lights off so they only come on when braking.

I'm skeptical that this can be done with a scan tool on an Mk.5

I’ve seen it done and with my OBD11 I tried and could only get the right side to work. When my VCDS gets here we will see what happens
