Hi my name is Markus. Below is the read out, first a brief summary of one problem I am trying to solve.
I am working with my sons on a 2008 VW Rabbit for a homeschooling project. This is my first time posting in a forum. I am a bit at a dead end and not sure what my next move is. Here is the problem, (or rather the symptom). The rear passenger window and door lock do not function. I have taken the entire rear door apart. I have replaced the window motor (J389). With the help of ChatGTP it seems the problem is, the central control module (J393) is not communicating with the window control module (J389) The door window motor has good ground, and is getting power. All six wires coming from the door connector going to the B pillar have continuity. I have checked the orange connector at J393 and there are two wires which showing low voltage (which according to chatgtp is likely the problem.) These two wires are twisted, and both have a separate pin in the connector. One is at around 7 volts, and the other around 4 volts. apparently they should be around 12V.
According to chat gtp pin 9 at the door connector (j389) should be the lin wire and should connect to Pin 7 at the central control module connector. I can't tell where pin #7 is. And I am not sure which of the 2 wires with low voltage is the correct lin wire going back to the door. Also as there are only 6 wires coming from J389 and only six pins receiving those wires with continuity on the inside of Pillar B. So the problem should be between the b pillar and the comfort module J393. Or is the problem further up the chain in the can gateway?
