All,

I have a thread running on Briskoda.net for MQB platform tweaks, the ones on Briskoda have been tried and tested on the Octavia III (5E).

You can find the thread here
http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/299424-octavia-iii-vcds-adaptations-tried-and-tested/

If anyone has anything further to add PM me with details.

Another good resource (use Google Translate) is

Has anyone found anything that enables the heated windscreen to automatically turn on below a certain temperature?
I have seen this option on the infotainment on 2014MY cars with a heated front windscreen, mine is a 2013MY and doesn't have this menu option.
I can't find a coding or adaptation difference yet that enables this, I am slowly coming to the conclusion that it is software version dependent.

I want to retrofit heated seats, but I am unclear if they are connected to the BCM or elsewhere.

rojas: Yes, all the wiring for seat heating is taken to/from the BCM and there is a bunch of adaptation channels in the control module for this facility (there is also a coding change that needs to be done to J519). VW has kindly provided a specific section of the wiring diagram for "seat heating", so it's a good idea (IMO) to check-out the WD before you launch into the project!

Don
PS: I kind-of lied when I said that ALL the wiring goes to the BCM. There are two wires that are needed between the BCM and the climatronic/heater control module to operate the seat heater buttons and the lamp

thank you very much, where I can get these documents? . Some things do not quite understand the language, sometimes the translator is not very precise and makes funny moves.

I have wiring diagrams, but the thermosensor , I not have unclear where is located

rojas: Hello again- yes I empathise with non-English speaking folk (I used to be one - in my early youth), translations make it very difficult to understand!

Most of the material that you will need can be found at [url]www.erwin.vw.com[/url]. There will be a charge for using the site, but the fee is very modest (can't recall the amount).

Hm....... 2nd sentence confusing - If you have the wiring diagrams, then you already have the documents, so you don't need Erwin!

From my reading of the WD, it appears that each of the front seats has a "temperature" sender". The right side sender is G345 and the left side sender is G344 in your wiring diagrams . Both senders are located in their respective seat cushions (left side cushion is Z6 and right side cushion is Z8 in your wiring diagrams). The heating elements in the two back rests don't have "temperature senders".

We already know the tailgate close will not work on a Superb,
yesterday I found out the coding for both rear fog light’s does not work on the Superb either.

Gizmo: I'm not familiar with the Superb, but here are the pertinent Rear fog light Leuchte channels for other MQB platform vehicles:

  • Mk7 (AU) - Leuchte26NSL LA72
  • Polo 6C - Leuchte26NSL A65
  • Audi A3 (8V) - Leuchte26NSL LA72 (Left) Leuchte27NSL RC6 (Right)
  • Skoda Octavia III -Leuchte26NSL LA72 (left) Leuchte27NSL RC6 (right)
  • Seat Leon - Leuchte28RFL LC11
Perhaps one of these might also apply to a Superb?

Don:

PS: Of course the necessary physical infrastructure must be present for the Rear Fogs to work

I will give the Polo and Leon codes a try over the weekend and report back, so far I have only tried the Octavia/A3/MK7 coding

Tried the coding again today:

  • Škoda Octavia III -Leuchte26NSL LA72 (left) Leuchte27NSL RC6 (right)....

On a RHD Superb, Leuchte26NSL LA72 is the right fog light (drivers side) and Leuchte27NSL RC6 is the left fog light (passenger side)

I can turn off the drivers side by dimming the LED’s down to 0% (from 100%) but no matter of coding will turn on the passenger side fog light (the brightness was set at 0%, but I have changed it to 100%)
Next step is to see if there is actually and wiring going to the passenger side fog light

Old thread but I'm bumping because of the new way VCDS (as of Release 16.8) handles Adaptation Channel naming. For example the tweaks for comfort windows should now be:

[Select]
[09 - Cent Elect.]
[Security Access - 16]
Enter 20103
[Do It!]
[Adaptation - 10]

IDE08542-IDE02021-Access control 2-Comfort closing active
IDE08542-IDE02022-Access control 2-Comfort opening active
IDE08542-ENG116652-Access control 2-Funk Komfort oeffnen active
IDE08542-ENG116651-Access control 2-Funk Komfort schliessen active
IDE08542-ENG122994-Access control 2-Menuesteuerung Komfortbedienung einstellbar adjustable

2018 models (mk7.5) may use different numbers to accomplish the same behavior:

ENG141681-IDE02021-ZV Komfort-Comfort closing,active
ENG141681-IDE02022-ZV Komfort-Comfort opening,active
ENG141681-ENG116652-ZV Komfort-Funk Komfort oeffnen,active
ENG141681-ENG116651-ZV Komfort-Funk Komfort schliessen,active
ENG141681-ENG122994-ZV Komfort-Menuesteuerung Komfortbedienung einstellbar,adjustable

I ran into the lower set on the 2018 Alltrack when using the list on top to find them. Thinking I can't find access control 2 then I found them and got this working first try.

I have a 2019 GTI Rabbit Ed. Went in to change the traction control button function, and found the long coding helper has far more bits than I'm seeing in most how-to's. Most say to look at "bit 29 (the last bit)", but I have a second line of bits to change. Can anyone help with how I determine what bits do what? Is traction control button behavior still bit 29? Still the last bit? Not sure how to tell, or where to start. I want to change the button behavior to ON/(press)Sport/(hold 3sec)Off.

Yep, it is still in the least significant bits of Byte 29.

Change it to ?6, where the ? is your unchanged first hexadecimal digit of that particular Byte.
